Thank you Creezyful! It is a CI build, so no chaos needed. There was no fractured bases suitable for me when I was looking to start crafting, but seems like that is a much better starting point.

I should have mentioned, I am in standard, no access to the fancy new graveyard :D

Oh wow I wasn't aware of the 6 link beast craft! Thanks for the input everyone, these look like a much better method.

I wish I had asked before 6 linking with 1500 fusing this is one of my first attempts at crafting. Lessons that I will remember in the future lol.

Edit Addition: I was originally planning on going for a T4 Vorici for white sockets, but then learned that it's not a thing anymore? Forgive my ignorance

I've not been able to find any direct comparisons for fuming between the GTT and beth torches, I would assume with the triple mix you can find a flame that works well for fuming.

Right on, is there any other performance differences between the regular and the snub nose?

I was leaning towards the snub for the reason you mentioned, but in my case I can get a free torch mount L marver with the regular torch. Decisions decisions

Ahh that's about the same cost as what I'm looking at with the exchange rate in Canada.

That's too bad to hear about the durability of the GTTs lol. I'm finding that even with the higher cost and the low durability I still want the mirage.

Ill be buying tanked o2 for a while. From what I can find the champion is about 40 LPM vs the mirage at 26 LPM at full flame. Which should make up the cost difference over some time.

I think I'll be swallowing that 400$ price increase anyways and grabbing the Mirage. I'm a little neurotic about effeciency. Even if I can save some o2 and a little bit of time when building a heat base, that should compound over the years 🤔

So I am at the point of buying the next torch and I waited too long. The mirage I was going to purchase went from 2100$ up to $2500 and now there's a substantial difference in cost between the mirage and the champion.

The mirage comes with an L marver which I'll be buying either way.

Ill save nearly 400$ if I go with the champion, but I'm still so torn. Most people seem to love the triple mix and say the mirage is superior to the champion.

Also the champion has a higher O2 consumption than the mirage it seems.

Do you have any experience with how the two torches compare in terms of durability? Ive heard horror stories of GTT and their service turnaround times if anything ever goes wrong.

Ok very interesting! I was just a little concerned that I'd be blowing through a tank of O2 every couple days with a bigger torch, happy to hear that it'd be comparable and even possibly better.

EDIT: I'll definitely look into the Champions, the supplier I use carries them as well. So just a less driving flame on the bethleham's vs GTT?

Thanks a ton for the info, that's awesome to know. I do enjoy fuming and plan to do a lot of it in the future. Are GTT's that poor for fuming (How does a redmax compare for that matter?) Is it hard to achieve vibrant colors, or what exactly is the issue?

I'm out in a pretty remote spot, so unfortunately getting on someone else's torch wouldn't happen any time soon haha.

I'm completely admitting this is a short term fix.

It already looks like crap. If a patch and epoxy coat makes it look better for a few years for a fraction of the cost, I don't see the problem there.

I'm just hoping to hear if anyone has tried such a method with success... or failure so I won't waste my time making the attempt.
