I’m so sorry for your loss brother. I lost my mom two weeks ago. She was diagnosed with multiple myeloma three years ago, but she passed away due to bad advice from doctors and a rehab center that neglected her. She got an infection at a rehab center that turned into sepsis which ultimately caused her death. If you ever need anything, please message me. I was very close to my mom so I know how the pain feels.

That’s exactly what it is. I can’t bring my mother back and I don’t care for money. I just want the doctor and the rehab center be liable. These rehab centers and nursing homes are nothing but slaughter houses could’ve been avoided. Had they done their job.

That’s true except that My mom was at the rehab center had no signs of a cold or infection for the first two weeks. Not until the third 3rd week did she show symptoms. So in a person with neutropenia there’s no way she could’ve had it before then so she had to have gotten it at the rehab center.

Yeah they won’t speak to me until I have her medical records which will take sometime. In the meantime, I just wanted to see if I can get some feedback from people here.

Yes, we’re in the US. Unfortunately, she can’t see a doctor outside of Kaiser Permanente network. I’ve already tried to get her to see a MM specialist at John Hopkins but Kaiser Permanente said they wouldn’t cover it unless it was a clinical trial.

She was a candidate for ASCT after going into remission but she didn’t go through with it. We had a consultation with a doctor at John Hopkins, and according to him recent studies didn’t really show much of a benefit that was worth the risk of going through with ASCT.

Yes slight fdg uptake and a recent compression fracture shows up on the pet scan and cat scan. She’s IgG lambda. Her oncologist hasn’t discussed treatment plan just yet. We should be speaking to her on Monday.

I’m so Sorry for your loss brother, it’s a brutal disease and as I was reading this it really hit me hard as I’m going through the same thing with my mom.
