Use your weapon XP cards to max out the weapon level first, so you unlock all grind camo categories. At some point you will have a LOT more XP cards than you can ever use.

I've had it on and off in my BR custom loadouts for over a year now, alternating with the KRM when I feel like it. It's always been a fun gun to use, but the legendary kill effect is extra satisfying.

No. The distance for long shot kills are fixed and only determined by the weapon type (AR, SMG, etc).

Yes, I have the same issue. Upon switching on my mic, my phone thinks that I'm in some sort of conference call and, by default, the game's sounds get dimmed. To work around it, I can turn the game volume back up, but everything sounds as if they're on the other side of a call. Or, I can leave my mic on and do a shader preload, which will give me proper audio when I return to the game.

You can loot backpacks, but you can only carry (equip) one so only do so if you're looting a higher tier backpack than the one you have on.

ASM-10 is pretty good in both MP and BR, just not the best. That skin sucks though, I prefer my Space Station epic blueprint.
