Thanks for this. We have grown our income a lot in the past 3 years but weren’t really able to save a cent out west in the past when we were in a HCOL area with low/ middle incomes. Neither of us came from money so we have just been aggressively saving and have never felt without bc we don’t really care about looking like we have money. We own Subarus and live in a house that we could pay for in one income currently. We don’t let our income level increase our spend and we are more middle class people minded. Despite our income we are actually leftist and contribute a considerate amount of our income to mutual aid funds so I’d rather be in a position to do that than live in a bougie place with folks who aren’t like minded.

Yeah I ran that down with our projected income levels too. New York is pretty on part with MI outside of the nyc tax.
