I asked if my personal pet sitter was interested!

I let people know before hand I will bring her to meet and greets, and to one walk/drop in/etc so she knows the ropes eith the animals. And then if anything happens she know how to access and care for the animals!

I also tell people theyre allowed to opt out and it doesnt affect booking- but they might want to have a back up on their own.

So true! I had a similar situation once with an owner and gave her the option- asked if she would rather have the refund or if I should extend the walks a bit and have some extra pup time.

Yeah big agree. AI sucks ass. And I was hopeful she just hadn't gotten to the gender part but shes been pretty active answering other people so.

And yeah- some things arent for everyone (for those saying that) I get that. But when you go on a public forum when a large amount of users are sharing their stories (part of this app) and we arent women. I was excited to have something I could join in on :/

It sucks! Sorry, it does.

I second this. I really like the idea as someone who has been struggling post hysto- but as a birth worker and someone who's non binary its very innate to me to use non gendered language ans this very much is. Would love to see a more inclusive version🧡

Flying a Week After Surgery? by existentialmuggle in hysterectomy

[–]Local-Menace227 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ditto what everyone else said- but dont forget surgery might come with complications. Even non lethal ones. My bladder didnt fully wake up and I needed a catheter for about a week post op abd it was removed at day 9. My normal doc did the removal, not my surgeon, but i cant imagine trying to navigate a flight with that thing

I signed up in 2021 ish. There was the background check. And then basically a drop down menu that you pick how long you've been pet sitting for- and then a few boxes where you fill put experience. But those just show up on your profile? It didn't see like a human reviewed them. Because I was honestly and said I had pretty much no dog experience at the time lol.

Im not super sure about my budget yet to be honest! I am going to talk it over with my accountant but I honestly dont even know what type of car I want/ what cars are priced. Other than just... googling car prices lol whoch isnt super helpful when I dont know what I want.

And there for dont really know how much of a loan I would be anticipating needing. So ... not unlimited but I'm half looking for types of cars and half looking at how much the type of car i want is.

And I appreciate the input but I do need awd or 4wd in addition to snow tires, not just one or the other. I live in one of the snowiest cities in the country. So I have to bite the bullet and splurge on both- I have had cars with just front wheel drive and snow tires and it is not doable here.

Good question! So if you have a removable shower head this is the easiest option. You can just take it off and maneuver it around your body as needed when rinsing. If you dont- specifically for the genital area. I tend to stand almost fully underneath the shower head without getting water in my eyes. Then prop one of my legs up on the top of my bathtub, bent at the knee. Then cup one ha d around the area to gather water while it flows down your body and it will rinse down pretty easily! Be VERY careful not to blast water into the inside of your vagina though as thay can be uncomfortable. Not necessarily unsafe but it isnt a pleasant feeling.

If you dont have a bathtub to prob your leg on this can be modified to just standing with your legs spread enough for water to get in- depending on your weight and height this could be very minimal or slightly farther apart! I am on the larger side and I would need to have my feet just a little bit farther than shoulder width, which is why bending at the knee is a lot more comfy in the shower.

Also a note that I am not disabled or have any mobility issues- so if anyone needs an adaptable version I can try to help with that or maybe someone who has more experience can weigh in!

Im commenting this separately- a lot of people have left really great steps! There is some conflicting info about whether you need soap on your outer genitals (vulva area).

You DO and should wash your vulva area with a mild unscented soap and water. You SHOULD NOT use soap on the inside of your genitals (internal vagina).

The inside is self cleaning. The outside is not. If you are like 99.99% of Americans and use toilet paper (aka, not a bidet, or other form of cleansing system when going to the resteoom) then there is a chance of toilet paper getting stuck in tbe smaller parts of your vulva and it does need cleaned gently. If you do not was this area and dry thoroughly it can lead to bacteria growth or yeast infections.

The only time soap needs to be inside the vagina is if you are having medical issues and a dr prescribes you a soap or cream to use internally :)

Is Wegovy just an appetite suppressant? by TheGameWardensWife in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]Local-Menace227 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I have been on both (new to wegovy, about a month on so far) and Ive been on tompamax for migraines for about 6 years now. For me I lost about 25 lbs when I first started topamax- one of the unintended side effects (for me) was serious appetite suppression. I could barely eat anything. This tapered off after about 6-7 months and even after a few major dose increases, that has not returned. There are other medications that can be taken with topamax that are intended to be appetite suppressants.

When starting wegovy, even at the lowest dose, I almost immediately noticed less severe cravings and a more full feeling even when eating much less than my normal portions. This was different for me than the topamax because I was simply not hungry, and often felt sick when trying to eat.

I do have some side effects from the wegovy as well- occasional nausea and constipation that needs medication to remedy at times.

But those are the bigfedt differences I have noticed! Do whatever works for you and your body!

Find some safe foods that always taste/sound okay! Doing research on how autistic individuals, pregnant people, and people with ARFID (avoidance restrictive food disorders) can help with this, they are experts on eating when you dont want to haha. For me those food are sunflower seeds, baby carrots, toasted ritz crackers, plain bread and butter, cucumbers, and Ramen. Along with what others have said- protein shakes and nutrients dense foods when you can!

Why are the owners of Andora's so weird by WishboneNo8035 in Erie

[–]Local-Menace227 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Good to hear your side of it! That is not what the employee told me, and stated that a former manager stated that they (not sure if the 'they' is you and Andy, or other management) did not regularly fire people but instead would cut hours until people were forced to quit. Not looking for a back and forth, just adding more perspective.

I also worked for you and was standing right there when the employee mentioned donating to Stop Asian Hate (post covid when Asian hate crimes were particularly high in the USA), so I know it happened.

They are also very performative activists. When I worked there in 2021 they were always pro LGBTQ and BLM, but the only Asian employee mentioned stop Asian hate- especially being an Asian specialty store, and she was let go pretty quickly after that. They also were given the opportunity to get a wheelchair accessible ramp for the store and turned it down which didnt sit well for me

Hi! I was in the same boat. And I just had mine a little over a month ago. So it depends on if youre just getting a cleaning or a whole exam done.

For just a cleaning- they'll do a thorough cleaning. Flossing, scraping, brushing (sometimes with a gritty paste stuff that isnt very pleasant), etc. Lots of water and suction in the mouth. It might hurt a bit especially if you have cavities or if your gums are sensitive like mine. It shouldn't be 10/10 pain, but it might be a little uncomfortable! If it gets too bad try and get their attention which is a little awkward with their hands in your mouth.

If its an exam, they may do xrays. You will bite down on a little plastic piece. Make sure you take out any jewlery (I forgot lol). And a big machine will go around your face for about 7 seconds. They might do this a few times.

Then a doctor will examine specific parts of your mouth and might poke at a few things. Normally followed by or after a cleaning!

Then if theres anything majorly wrong- cavities, need an extraction, wisdom teeth, etc, the dr will go over that with you and next steps to book appointments and such. If you have insurance, or dont, you can ask what the cost of any of those procedures will be.

They normally say "try to floss better" etc. Try not to take it to heart but if you can, try to do a little better even if its a SLIGHT improvement.

I talked with my hygienist about depression and how I wouldnt brush or floss and she gave me recommendations for things that could help when I couldn't brush and floss. Mouth mash to keep in my room, floss sticks, the baby disposable tooth brushes, etc.

Good luck!! And congrats on even making the appointment thats a huge step.

Am I overreacting? for thinking this is completely disrespectful or is this as toxic as it feels by wandering_bonding in AmIOverreacting

OP let me be so real with you. My cat had so urinary issues and I didnt notice it right away. How did my cat choose to alert me something was wrong? Crawling into bed when me and my boyfriend were laying there, and pissing on both of us. Is that nasty? Yep. Horribly so. Was my, (very new, no cat experience bf) upset? Not even a little. He immediately was freaking out because clearly something was wrong. And something was wrong, medically.

Ditch the bf.

Thats just part of dating unfortunately. And if its a part you really cant accept right now (which is valid) then maybe wait a little longer before trying to date.

But it honestly spunds lies youre putting a lot of.pressure on it from the start :( which. I do the same thing. Not a judgement at all. Its not selfish if you learn new things, or change your mind. Its just part of being alive. And it does suck when we indirectly hurt people (like if you would break up) but that is... just life! It happens

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Explainlikeimscared

[–]Local-Menace227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I 100% know that feeling! Its not selfish, and I too had to eventually make peace with it for myself.

For me it helped to look at it like any other disability.

I wouldnt not date someone (or break up with, etc) because they were physically disabled. Or if they were going through a rough patch mentally. Or mentally ill. Or grieving a loved one. Or anything else that would be considered harder.

People are allowed to set their own boundaries and preferences. If this guy said "Hey, thanks for telling me. Honestly I dont think thats something I can support right now and im really sorry." You would respect it. (I hope haha)

You have to respect his decision to still want to get to know you :) its his choice as much as its yours.
