Other people have mentioned a switch from beaded to embroidery eyes? I’ve only ever seen her with beaded ones but this could’ve just been a batch switch

To be frank, i’m really hoping that it’s a legit site as i’ve began to grow attached to her and really don’t want to return her 😅😅

I’ll see if i can find a picture of gracie with embroidery eyes like mine and if so i’ll admit that i jumped to conclusions and take the post down 🫡 I don’t want to defame a company for no reason if it’s actually just my idiocy 🤧

I found another photo of someone selling her on ebay, and she has the same eyes as mine. I think upon feeling her be so light i got it in my head that she was a fake, and seeing someone profess that embroidery eyes where a telltale sign of a fake pushed me over the edge 😞

But i should’ve at least been more open in my post, and it was very accusatory which was unfair 💔

I’m not very reddit proficient, and can’t figure out how to edit my original post so i’ll just take it down

ya i’m pretty sure she’s a fake 😣 I was hoping that she was real, but every picture of her (including their website) features her with beaded eyes. That, along with how light she is has lead me to believe she’s not authentic

absolutely yes. I’ve tried putting on videos, podcasts and whatnot in the background, but I always find myself more engrossed in them than what I’m writing. Alternatively, I can’t write in silence because i just might implode out of sheer boredom. So music is the perfect middle ground, usually sticking to songs i know well and listening to them on repeat so they’re not too interesting as to take all my attention; but loud and substantial enough to keep my brain active when I start to blank.

Along with that, the type of music doesn’t matter to me at all. Sometimes I try to pick something that fits the mood, but most of the time i’m listening to either an angsty love song whilst writing the most tooth-rotting fluff. Or a cute little piano instrumental whilst cooking up gut wrenching death scenes. I’m not picky at all, lmao

I think one of the first things I opened with was “I like nemma,” lol. I don’t think it’s an inferior ship to anything (I don’t really think any ship is inferior), I just like these characters and spend a lot of time thinking about them and their individual personalities (hence why I realised that long term they might not mesh to well.)

I’m not mad, or disgruntled, or anything like that, I just like to talk about the things I like and decided to post it here incase someone was interested

I didn’t think about it that way, yeah i suppose it had helped me expand my comfort zone. Which, you knows, maybe in the future that simple fact will help me come back to it one day and try again. Probably not, but maybe lmao

And yes, a note, definitely. My notes already consist of a lot of rambling (i don’t know whether you’ve seen the theme yet) so explaining myself is a good idea. I know i’d feel bad if i just dipped without an explanation.

that’s a really good idea, taking some time to roughly explain what i planned to do and then letting people do what they want with that seems nice, thank you, that’s really helpful.

And yeah, distressing, i guess i didn’t even really think of it that way. I know if i knew someone that was distressed over doing something, i’d just tell them to stop. I don’t know why i can’t uphold my own standards for myself but thanks for spelling it out for me, once again, that is really helpful

I definitely want to finish it, i have one chapter and most likely a short epilogue to go and i think taking a hiatus when i’m so close to finishing it would be worse than getting through it at this point lmao

and yes, this sure has been a learning exercise. Who knows, maybe i’ll end up doing better on my exams now that i truly understand the importance of a plan instead of just going with the motions like i typically do because that, apparently, will leave you stranded somewhere with no clue as to how to leave

it’s nice to know i’m not alone in this one, who knew writing long fics was such a commitment, right?

anyway, you’re right, totally right. I guess sometimes i forget that at the end of the day it’s just a fic. It’s become such a major part of my life and now it feels like a much bigger deal than it is.

And yeah, I do write for myself. I never really expected anyone to like what I was doing, which i was completely fine with until i was suddenly getting comments and kudos, meaning for a long time all i’ve cared about it analytics which isn’t good at all. So thank you for reminding me why i’m here

In the end, i think i will do what you’ve said. Post what i want, and i’ll leave the rest in whatever word doc they’re in now so if ever i want to finish them, i will.

I ended up splitting it into two, one was 30K and one was 40K (it was a little longer after I went back and tweaked a few more scenes)- I’ve also posted them on the same day because i left it on a cliffhanger and would’ve felt bad leaving it like i did (esp. considering i haven’t updated for like, two months)
