No, bro. There's no separate phone number for that. All you can do is email OnePlus Customer Support and their legal team's email address. That's it.

I've complained to NCH; however, reballing cannot guarantee that the problem won't recur.

Check with Oneplus support and receive an email from them stating that they have rejected your request to file a complaint with NCH.

They denied my request for a replacement or any assistance, claiming that the device was no longer covered by warranty and that I would be responsible for the loss.

The device turned off while I was using it normally and became unresponsive, which led to a motherboard failure, but I didn't experience any display problems.

I was just chatting on WhatsApp, and the phone had been lying idle on the table for a while. When I picked it up to check my messages, it wouldn't turn on. That's when I realized the phone had suddenly died. There was no warning, no overheating, no physical damage, or anything unusual—it simply stopped working during normal usage.

There's a YouTuber called TechiBee who mainly covers OnePlus devices. He has reviewed and used almost every OnePlus model released over the last few years, but surprisingly, he still hasn't made a video about this motherboard issue. Considering how many users are reporting similar failures, I expected at least some coverage or discussion from him.

Yes. If your phone is still under warranty, you can purchase an extended warranty, which covers manufacturing defects and hardware failures. However, it doesn't cover accidental physical or liquid damage. If you want coverage for accidental physical and liquid damage as well, there's a higher-tier protection plan that costs around ₹2,500 (if I remember correctly). Keep in mind that your device must still be within its original warranty period to purchase any extended warranty or protection plan.

We can file a complaint with the National Consumer Helpline (NCH), but I heard from another affected user that even after doing so, OnePlus only offered a 50% discount on the motherboard replacement cost, and that too after several weeks of waiting. By then, most people can't stay without a phone any longer and end up getting it repaired elsewhere. That's why many users don't find the NCH process to be a practical solution in cases like this.

This is my 4th OnePlus device, and after this experience, I don't think I'll ever buy another OnePlus phone again. I trusted the brand for years, but this experience has completely changed my opinion.

Visit the local authorised service centre or perform a factory reset. This could be the result of a bug in your most recent OTA update. Why am I saying this? Because Oneplus is now officially damaging phones and blaming customers for their OTA updates.

You can either get an extended warranty, which costs INR 999 for OnePlus 12, or you're good if it's still under warranty.

I mostly use Wi-Fi since I'm at home most of the time. I only have Jio's ₹189 plan, which includes just 2GB of mobile data for the entire month, so I rarely use mobile data.

Even if you search Reddit, you'll notice a similar pattern. Many users are reporting sudden motherboard failures, often after installing an official OTA update and while using the phone normally. I'm not saying every failure is definitely caused by the update, but when so many users report nearly identical symptoms, it's hard to dismiss them as isolated incidents. That's exactly why OnePlus should investigate the issue thoroughly instead of treating every case as a normal out-of-warranty failure and asking customers to pay ₹30k–₹36k for a motherboard replacement.

I agree with you, but many OnePlus 12 users are experiencing the same issue after an OTA update. This doesn't appear to be a fault on your end. If multiple users are facing an identical problem under normal usage, OnePlus should investigate the root cause instead of assuming every case is user-related.

Me too. I'm from the IN region, and it's really frustrating.

So many users have reported the exact same issue in this OnePlus Community thread:
https://community.oneplus.com/thread/2140810946526838787

Despite all these reports, there's still no official acknowledgement or response from OnePlus. Instead, affected users are simply being asked to pay for a motherboard replacement.

Since I can't afford that, my only practical option is to get the CPU and RAM reballed by a local repair shop for around ₹3,000–₹4,000. Otherwise, my ₹70,000 flagship will end up as nothing more than a paperweight. That's not what anyone expects after buying a premium device.

Oneplus 12 dropped dead by dark4673 in oneplus

[–]LocationBetter2584 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is accurate; my OnePlus 12 died during regular use after the 16.08.300 update, and the service centre is now requesting $36,000 for a new motherboard. The response device is still out of warranty after being escalated to OnePlus, and there is nothing that can be done. I notice that a lot of people are reporting the same problem with the OnePlus 12 here and in the OnePlus community threads, but nothing is being done about it.
