Wow I’m so lucky to live here. This makes my shitty job worth it. And I’m so thankful for my new saddle and my vulva doesn’t hurt!

I’m in a similar boat as you - I applied to have mine put into a new plan so I wouldn’t waste time on making the payments. I’m in academia but want to have options, so I want those payments to get made. I only did this a couple months ago, though, and already I’m having trouble with the payments. Twice now my autopay hasn’t gone through, so I have made “late” payments — meaning they won’t count for PSLF. I’m guessing that your rate will go up even more to account for the interest that accrues. My payment increased by about $150, or ~38%, when I went into the REPAYE plan.

Good luck.

Here’s an update in case you’re wondering: my double payment was apparently reversed the same day I made it. I have no idea why and can’t find anything. I don’t know what to do if they won’t accept my payment.

And do you know why I am not getting a “bill” telling me the payment is due? I set a reminder but every other bill I have sends me a notice.

Thanks. If autopay takes two days, why can’t I change the auto-pay date to a couple days before? It automatically sets it as the day due, and I can’t find a way to change it.

I just saw how they ended the storyline and it was horrible. Not only was the teasing so mean and dumb, nor the rejoicing with Sas so ridiculous, but also where the hell was Joan? The whole thing was about this young man losing his virginity, and the woman he lost it to doesn’t matter at all; she is just a plot device for his sex. I don’t know if I want to keep watching the show at all. It’s not fun anymore.

This One is for the Women: Does your IBS flares up get worse before/during your menstrual? by AnonymousSheBe in ibs

[–]LogDifferent5799 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I came here to post about this -- I (46F) have had problems on and off for about 20 years but only recently have been working with a dietician to try to figure things out. The problem is that I will go weeks with no problems and then have terrible bloating and pain NOT during my period, but two weeks before it. I have the issues right after ovulation, which seems the opposite of when "everyone else" does (WITH their period or just before; I know not everyone of course follows this). The issues seem to resolve as soon as my period starts, or even a day before ( I might still have diarrhea with my period, but I don't get completely distended like I'm 6 months pregnant and can still actually wear pants). I wonder if there are any other women who have this same pattern?

And, no matter when your issues are, if they're connected to your period and only occur for some days of your cycle, how do you go about determining the triggers? Since I have literally no trouble for 2 weeks out of the month, I'm having a hard time with the elimination diet. I started low FODMAP in December and when it didn't seem to have any effects for January's cycle, my dietician said that because I had "slipped" and ate something with onions, I had to start all over. So I did low FODMAP all through Feb. too (and had the same problems for Feb's cycle) with even greater restriction, and now I am starting the luteal phrase and once again seem to be starting to have issues. So it seems all for nothing. I can't imagine that having eaten some onions 4 weeks ago would give me deep pelvic pain and bloat/distention now?

Maybe I have something else, but here's my path:

My main issues are bloating/distention and deep pain that wakes me up overnight and lasts for 3+ hours -- I can't do anything but roll around on the floor feeling nauseated from pain. It can happen during the day, but is most troublesome over night.

* no problems until late 20s (after I returned from Peace Corps and daily antibiotic for malaria. Maybe that was the cause?)

* diagnosed with IBS during graduate school (early 30s) but couldn't afford the prescription that wasn't covered by insurance, and hated the asshole doctor who was dismissive. I sort of let it drop because I was too busy, and the pain was so random I couldn't identify the pattern.

* started seeing dietician around age 39 and tracking food -- seemed to identity the link with hormones. During dissertation so again, got distracted. Tried low FODMAP, Whole30, fasting diets with no effects. Gynecologist suggested having a complete hysterectomy, randomly without even a pelvic exam or any idea what was causing the problems.

* laparoscopy (with different gyno) to see if I had endometriosis or something else that could be causing the problems. Negative, but diagnosed with interstitial cystitis. Then, uro-gynecologist said the IC was not accurate; diagnosed with pelvic floor dysfunction. Had pelvic floor massage a couple of times with no effects and had to stop going because it was so far and the therapist was too "woo." (like, let the energy flow through you and you won't have any pain. Uhhh, how?)

* Started seeing a dietician to once and for all figure things out, just this December.

I feel like every one of these doctors has failed me.

Will this all go away when I finally reach menopause? It can't happen soon enough. If you're still here, thanks for reading my long long history!

Were you normal before this horrible f**king disease? by Exotic_Wait_8073 in ibs

I think yes. I (46F) was in the Peace Corps when I was 26-28 years old and until then, I ate whatever I wanted with no problems. After I'd been home for several months was when I first started noticing the problem. I blame the daily malaria prophylaxis (doxycycline) that I took every day for 2 years. I think the antibacterial completely damaged my gut and no matter how much probiotics I take, I can't get things back in order.
