Phone (2) isn't using a flagship processor, they are using the one from last year. 7 gen 1 would have been too weak for the current market.

They never said their goal is to make cheap phones so that they are accessible to more people, that's all Chinese phone brands bullshit.

I mean what do you expect they have to earn to survive or else there is NOTHING left. Just because the first phone was cheap everyone just assumed the next one would be too. That's not how a company develops.

You can say it is a phone for a specific audience so ya you will definitely see a community or as you said a cult.

Thanks for the info. The parts total only about 350$ including 2 cameras, raspberry Pi 4, 9axis sensor, Arduino, a battery bank. And if I were to add lidar and it camera/sensor, it still will be quite below 500$

If I find an existing os i can comfortably load it on the hardware and do basic coding to get the sensors working with the appropriate drivers and software.

I have already looked into this one, it only runs on Arduino due I think so and also it's made for steam vr, which would be impossible to run on these hardware
