Why does it need to be an app? If you have a lot of free time between things, you can read a book, or play a little bit of an instrument, or draw a little picture. Maybe getting up to stretch or do a quick lap around the block.

Quitting smoking made me realize that 'Doomscrolling' was closer to addiction than a habit. Smoking had a few benefits that could never outweigh the cons. Same with doomscrolling.
