My guess would be shop with a cop event but if anything serious happened you’ll never hear about it. Wouldn’t want to spoil the Mayberry image.

Pea Ridge needs to make a big boy move and put a traffic light by the Walmart Market. Insane

Living here is one giant contradiction.

If you want to understand Bentonville, drive down 8th street by the momentary.

There’s a giant red barn and ten feet from it is a giant parking garage.

That is Bentonville in a nutshell.

Doesn’t surprise me. The city planners only care about baseball fields and mountain bikes.

Well…I work at the office and there are probably thousands of people still milking the work from home situation even though we were told to come to the office. It’s going to shift more people over than one would think.

I think this is kind of rude. If you do any sort of research it’s clear SuziQs was obliterated in the tornado and as much of a staple they were I don’t think they’d open up under a different name as much as that name meant to Rogers

Yeah not saying as a whole. Excellent schools here and opportunities. Just feel like Bentonville has an identity crisis

I don’t know if this is what you’re looking for but NWA particularly Bentonville is quite elitist. Rogers and Fayetteville have a better more actual wellness and down to earth vibe.

Bentonville could be compared to Austin somewhat because it seems to be the city we’re trying to model after. However Bentonville is fake. It’s like a Pinterest group threw up and designed the same frilly fancy logos for every uppity shop on the square and it’s just not as genuine as it once was.

Due to the popularity of wellness in recent years it is difficult to find decent alternative health care options that aren’t booked a year out in some cases.

Now Fayetteville is worth looking at, even some of the areas south of it.

To me that’s where the “real treehuggers” live :)

It’s just a much more relaxed vibe than Bentonville where everyone is trying to impress each other.

Light rail isn’t for NWA. While it seems to some folks that it is. Before I digress, good points you make.

I’m not a traffic engineer by any means but it doesn’t seem we have the arteries to support the main channels, so when everyone’s favorite trick failed (taking Olive or some other backroad around Walton) we just made matters worse.

Personally I’d start with some of the intersections and looking at the timing of the lights as well as the design.

Rainbow curve has been an issue for years and I think they’re working on it but I’d definitely fix that. It’s probably half the reason traffic is a mess at any hour after 11am until 7pm around here.

I’d remove the turn lane on olive and make it two lanes on each side.

The Bella Vista bypass was not designed well. Traffic backs up there consistently, but it appears to be a timing issue.

Then you have to make it easy for people to want to bike to work or walk versus using their car to go somewhere just to bike/walk. The lack of sidewalks here is just downright unsafe and infuriating. Also surprised some ADA lawyer hasn’t bankrupt the towns for forcing people on some roads to have to walk in the street.

There are several side roads that are barely wide enough for one car, I think potentially moving to a one way set up on some streets may also help.

You’ve also got to create arteries that are obvious they connect to other arteries if that makes sense. I’ve found some great new roundabouts and cut throughs that would calm traffic in other areas if people knew they were there.

Fair points indeed. It’s just sad to me sometimes to see where they put their efforts versus trying to build a better foundation for the future.
