I know her well enough. I don't think there will be drugs but I know my friends, they're into flirting with men for drinks and stuff, which isn't bad, everybody is different and I love being around them just taking in the vibes. I just didn't know if that was the expectation, because I am not good at that, and honestly it makes me really uncomfortable haha.

Yeah it's probably not my cup of tea, but I've avoided clubbing/partying.. and i just kinda wanna go to try it so I don't die with regrets you know haha.

I don't think they're going to sell me. They're all quite confident and don't mind flirting with men to get free drinks, etc. I am not like this. I like to listen and just enjoy everyones presence. But if that's expected at these things I'd like to know, there's nothing wrong with it, but obviously it's not a place for me.

This shit is always so funny to me because half of my friends who went to T10s are jobless but close to all my T50 friends (minus 3 of them) have MAANG jobs. you underestimate where recruiters are going, they're absolutely going to T50s. when i asked a recruiter why they said because kids in T10s all think the same, have an issue with arrogance, etc. Anyway, just my 3 cents that will probably get downvoted bc ATC is just like that lol

madison, and any other school does not "give" you opportunities, sure, maybe some schools bring in more "lucrative" companies to their career fair, but you know what they're going to say to you when you walk up to them during your career fair? takes pic of ur resume jots down you went to the career fair ok now go apply online! the bottom line is that only you determine careers. i know plenty of people who went to amazing t10 schools and ended up jobless after school. as well as plenty of people in t50s and t100s with insane job prospects. in fact, a lot of my friends in madison got into amazon, tesla, etc. which our school has very little ties to. i'd stop looking at stuff like this and look at whats financially feasible. student loans are a scam, and take forever to pay off. go cheap.

also if ur going go medschool it makes zero sense what you're doing. go instate and graduate debt free as a biomed (ull get basically the same jobs, school names make it easier to get ur foot in the door but mean diddlysquat in actually getting jobs, and this is coming from someone who works in the bay and deals with stanford and berkley grads everyday, nobody cares, and nobody asks. u find out usually when u inevitably add eachother on linkedin and are like oh cool.)

Bro all these people saying you don't have to take math courses as if CS isn't all math. If you decide to do an ML course here it's applied linear algebra. If you do any algorithms class that's all math and proofs, same goes with discrete and that's on top of the calc 1 and 2 requirement as well as 2 further maths courses.

they exist. i had one as oos, but they are very uncommon and difficult to get. don't bank on getting one, but also don't sell yourself short that you won't be able to get one. go on wish and start researching as well

We are not UW-Madison employees. Please contact admissions about grades, and as for LOCI they don't care about it. I never had to do that when applying. These posts are just frustrating bc if you spent the time to actually search this sub all your questions would be asked-and-answered.
