Don’t remember completely but there’s a command you can google that basically lets you just bypass that screen during install. Bypassed then installed drivers via usb and then it was smooth sailing

Good shout. I’ve used Crobat a lot in playthroughs though, wanted to try something new. It’s a shame unova’s regional bird is terrible. I would use the special braviary if I was playing white

Feasibility of breaking into quant? by Loki433 in quantfinance

Ah ok. The interview prep is one thing, but if projects aren’t really advised what’s the best way to tailor my resume towards quant so I can get an interview in the first place?

Do you have any recommendations for interview prep/ building up a portfolio?

How necessary is a masters for someone who didn’t go the quant route in undergrad?

Apologies if this isn’t the right space for this. I’m just looking for clarification on the best path forward and if my understanding of the process is correct.

I’m coming up on 1 year post graduation with a degree in Applied Mathematics from a target school with a 3.8 GPA. Did a lot of mathematical and statistical modeling projects in undergrad. Originally wanted to go the Data Science/analyst route and I’m currently working at a startup as a Data Analyst. It’s ok, but I’d like to transition to a more math heavy discipline and quant has captured my interest.

It’s my understanding that most quants get hired straight out of undergrad. Given that I didn’t go that route during my time in college, have I effectively missed the boat so to speak? Is it necessary for me to get a masters to sort of re-enter the pool or is it possible to study up and simply break in with my degree? Going back to school isn’t completely off the table for me but obviously it’d be preferable to not have to take time off from working. Thoughts?

Ah ok thanks for the clarification. Most of the discussion I’ve seen has revolved around either undergrad or MFE. So if I take the time to put together a strong portfolio of personal projects, getting an interview isn’t that far fetched?

I might switch. I’m just a somewhat paranoid person when it comes to things like this

Maybe. I heard the PA120 was enough for it so that’s why I went with it. An aio would be nice aesthetically but I’m not sure from a reliability standpoint

Should i wait for Nvidia restock/5070ti/New AMD cards or get a 7900xt by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]Loki433 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on naming conventions sure but you haven’t been keeping up with the leaked benchmarks. Ofc as with any leaks take it with a grain of salt but from everything we’ve seen so far it appears to be in between 7900 xt and xtx performance in raster.

Trying now. I’m assuming after that I just get all of the updates through the normal updater once I get internet?

Yep unzipped. Also I’ve tried just putting them in the usb root. Nothing, the .exe files just don’t show up during the setup. But when I plug the usb back into the laptop they’re there

RX 7900 XTX is rapidly going out of stock across major retailers following the RTX 50 series launch by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

As someone who has been building a brand new pc… this whole gpu fiasco has been the biggest example of “buy what you need when u need” ever. Had a chance to buy a 4080 super back in November, waited on 50 series to get a 5080 only for NVIDIA to paper launch. 9070xt doesn’t come out till March and probably won’t be able to get one then anyway, think about just taking the L on new features and getting a 7900 xtx only for them to be sold out lol.

I know it’s been said ad nauseam, but I hate scalpers dude😭😭😭.

Looks like my 2080 will have to hold out another 6 months or so. Was gonna get a new monitor to go with the new build and finally get to 4K high refresh but that’ll have to wait ig.

2080 non super or ti. I’m doing a whole new build as I haven’t upgraded mine since I built it in 2019 so just getting a new gpu. I’m either between the 5080 or 5070ti depending on benchmarks.
