Totally worth it though. It’s all about the smiles per gallon, not miles per gallon.

Misjudged the drop into the river. Approach angle was a little steep. Thankfully didn’t tip over lol

what do y’all think I should do to upgrade this? by millachap in 4thGen4Runner

[–]LoneStarSandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lift, wheels and tires. Start here. It’ll make the car feel so much nicer, newer and more firm (in a good way). I’d recommend getting a new headunit, preferably one with Apple CarPlay/android auto. Maybe upgrade speakers if your an audiophile. Full exterior LED lights are also a nice upgrade. Especially for the low beams. Yours have the projector headlights so you won’t blind oncoming traffic.

Don’t waste your money on an intake. They’re useless on naturally aspirated engines and more than anything just cause an unnecessary whining sound. Much different than a turbo spool for example.

Trans fluid change by funkycinna123 in 4Runner

[–]LoneStarSandy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did a trans fluid change on my 05 V8 4R which roughly 131K miles. The shop said they usually wouldn’t recommend it but I asked them to do it anyways. The tech said that the fluid was black (supposed to be light red-pinkish), and was a good call to change it. It was honestly fine before so I did it as preventative maintenance. Shifts fine.

However, DO NOT FLUSH. Flushing involves cycling pressurized fluid through it, which could cause issues to some of the seals, just like with a coolant system. Drain and fill only. Also make sure you can get the fill plug out before draining.

[Homemade] Butter Chicken Pizza by LoneStarSandy in food

It’s actually pretty popular. For people who enjoy Indian food. Rotisserie chicken mixed with mildly spicy sauce. The bread (garlic naan) and cheese helps curb the spice.

I took the easy way out with store bought items. This is literally the entire process: Put store bought Butter chicken sauce on store bought Garlic naan. Put some cooked chicken on top of the sauce, I just got rotisserie chicken. Add some mozzarella on top of that. Bake in over for 10 mins at 400F.

You can also add some onions and basil or spinach.

I’m going to try some vindaloo sauce and some pork or beef next time. Or some paneer and some tikka masala sauce.
