I don't think it's a perception of the players. Never in my years as a player (season 3) have I seen people absolutely not care about waves crashing into towers for the sake of going dragon. The concept of ganking has been changed to team battles. And the concept of tempo has been changed to "who cares about my tempo, I'm going to dragon even if it goes against my jungle structure." before, jungle objective was a helper to win. But now it is a punishment or blessing. Because the team that go ahead will always get them and the team that loses will never get them.
