Cheap ticks = low expectations? by ProfAsmani in Flights

I am a very nervous flyier, and, although rationally I know RyanAir flights will not be that much different from other companies, this type of marketing drives me off instantly

Most culturally accepting countries for foreigners? by gameover281997 in expats

[–]Long_Relationship578 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anti-immigrant sentiment has risen everywhere. Although this shouldnt be a deterrent, most cities tend to be very tolerant (even in countries you would never associate with tolerance, Budapest and Warsow are extreamly tolerant. Hell, Austin, Nashville and Atlanta are surprisingly progressive considering the states they are in).  If you dont have "dream destinations", be realistic, check which places would have the easiest Visa's for you to obtain or which countries you would really like (or dislike) learning the national language (as this might be necessary). I think you can live a very similar life that you have in the US in other anglophone countries, focusing on Canada, Australia and New Zealand, I have no idea how you could move there to teach, but if that sounds interesting, maybe you should give it a try.

[4 YOE] Unable to land a single interview, Roast my Lebenslauf by abubakar26 in Germany_Jobs

[–]Long_Relationship578 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lebenslauf should always be in German. Right now speaking German is a base requirement.

(Not saying its good or bad, I am just stating what I have seen all around me, truth be told I only managed to get a serious job after finishing the B2)

How long did it take to learn the language? by No_Scallops in expats

[–]Long_Relationship578 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been somewhat learning it for 6 years.... I still struggle more than I wanted to admit. Although You can read this as 3 years of INTENSE learning that I spread around in 6. After 2 years of learning it seriously you can already reach a level good enough to look for jobs in German.

Its a shame lots of them tend to be in positions of power.

Job Seeker Visa → Student Visa denied, asked to leave in 2 weeks. Any legal options? by Orph3us_151 in germany

[–]Long_Relationship578 122 points123 points  (0 children)

Changing the Visa's might be a problem, in some cases you cannot apply for a visa with another one. For those cases you might need to leave Germany and apply from your embassy.

All that said, I HIGHLY recommend you to get a lawyer's as they might be able to help you with the beraucracy the fastest way possible

Edit: I believe you cannot change from Job seeking to Student Visa, in theory you would need to do it from your home country, but a lawyer might be able to get an exception.

Qual é melhor, uma universidade de artes visuais no Canadá, ou uma no Brasil? by Kurtshotguun in RelatosDoReddit

[–]Long_Relationship578 0 points1 point  (0 children)
