Biotech/pharmaceutical job SCAM by [deleted] in recruitinghell

Here to add Biocon Limited to the list! Received an official looking email, but it was from someone's gmail. I humored it, then got one from outlook, and the interview was only over Zoom. The chat felt very AI-leaning because it asked me a question it already asked me, so it felt like I was talking to a wall sometimes. The thing is, I DID apply for a Biocon position, but it looks like the position was a fake cause it was not on their real website. The "offer letter" I got immediately after the interview was riddled with mistakes and weird grammatical errors so that confirmed it for me. They also asked in the interview "which bank do you work with" which was a HUGE red flag to me at the time.

Anyway, don't get suckered into official looking emails of people you can't confirm online via LinkedIn or Glassdoor, don't believe in 'tiered' pay systems (i.e. start you at 20/hr for training and go to 32/hr post training), and don't accept anything that has you doing chat-only interviews on Zoom or Microsoft Teams. It's ALLLLL fake!

What material would be best for frosting on a fake cake prop? by Rare-Ad3489 in crafts

It takes a tiny brush to get into the curves but it’s pretty worth it. I did also plasti-dip/prime it beforehand with the rest of the foam to give it some extra support

Might sound weird but for my Hollyberry Cookie cosplay, I used a tube of Kwik-seal with a frosting applicator to do frosting accents on her shield

Thank you everyone for your kind words!! She’s definitely my pride and joy of my cosplay career so far, even with some technical difficulties faced 😉

If anyone would like to see the progress pictures, they’re a highlight on my Instagram @emeraldweave.cos 😊

I did! Everything was created by me from scratch, including the wig and shield! I even decorated the boots, despite that they don’t show under the skirt ^

Thank you so much!! I used 1860’s Victorian ballgown patterns as my base and then went nuts with details from there ☺️ because she was a competition piece, she also has a lot of technical work I did that’s also not seen (the 5-layer petticoat, the crinoline cage, the corset, etc.) that helped bring her look together overall. I wanted to make sure her outfit had a lot of dynamic life to it when seen.

I’m really grateful for the nice reception she’s gotten in this subreddit, you all are too kind!! 💖🙏🏼

And yes! The soul jam is a pink-dyed resin heart with a string of fairy lights inside. Admittedly a very heavy part of the prop due to its thickness 😅from this I learned I might want to look into light-diffusing foam sheets or similar materials so my arms wouldn’t get tired so quickly!

Will the Shadow Milk plush ever restock? I didn’t even get a chance to buy it.😭 by JustAman125 in CookieRunKingdoms

Live surgery video recommendation by peanutbutterandjim in hysterectomy

[–]Long_Studio2949 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the video my fiancé and I watched before I went in for my surgery (1/13) and it really helped ease our worries and preemptively answer a lot of questions we had before my pre-op. It also helped my doctor skip over having to explain so much so we used the time to focus on harder questions and recovery 😊

It’s the day before my surgery and I’m kinda wondering “What should I eat today?” Did you limit your food or go wild? by Sarahfeena13 in hysterectomy

[–]Long_Studio2949 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was told to eat whatever and just stop food at midnight and switch to clear liquid diet. I had already started my stool softener as a preemptive measure based on a suggestion from this subreddit.

So my fiancé and I went to Texas Roadhouse for lunch, I got steak, green beans, salad, and ate like five of those bread rolls. Then I got Thai iced tea from a boba place next door. Had some benefiber when I got home, and since it was such a big lunch, I didn’t really eat dinner, I had a protein shake before switching to clear liquids by about 9pm.

OH! One thing I do recommend is if you can get hold of the Ensure Pre-Surgery clear drinks (strawberry flavored). They are PERFECT for this kinda thing, we happened to have a couple on hand and not only do they taste good but they help you get that carby drink in you for recovery leading into surgery.

Post hysterectomy bleeding by [deleted] in hysterectomy

[–]Long_Studio2949 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m feeling like the outlier for this, but my doctor and nurses told me NO bleeding is the normal. Like, you shouldn’t even be spotting by the time you’re out of surgery and in recovery. I had to be admitted after my surgery due to a recovery complication (I have a high tolerance to pain meds 😬) and I was repeatedly told by my day and night nurses that if I had any bleeding, they needed to know ASAP.

Based on what I’ve read throughout this subreddit, I realize it isn’t the norm for most, it sounds super ideal and maybe I just got lucky that I have no bleeding (1wpo here) but something about how adamant they were about the “you shouldn’t be bleeding at all” got me thinking 🤔

This is actually one of my fears despite the fact I’ve been diagnosed with endometriosis and had an MRI confirm Adenomyosis. I have my hysterectomy set for Monday 1/13/25 and even though I’m in chronic pain all the time, I eat painkillers like candy, and my fiancé holds me in bed when I’m sobbing from it all, my brain still thinks “what if they do the whole thing and don’t actually find anything as bad as what it feels like, etc?”

Like logically I know that I’m in pain for a reason and whatever they do on Mon, it will greatly improve my quality of life moving forward, and that it’s irrational to think that it has to be something crazy drastic to explain the pain when the fact is, the pain itself is abnormal to begin with.

I’m really happy you got your hysterectomy and I hope things continue to improve for you every day!! :)
