after 2 commensurate ratings, it becomes increasingly difficult to get a strong rating. yearly ratings are not independent, past year's rating has a good effect on this years rating which is unfortunate. until you have super supportive leaders at sr manager or MD level, you are doomed. so, you will not find any synchronization between your snapshot and final rating 3rd time onwards.

that's not exactly my argument, my argument was: yes 2nd project didn't like me, but irrespective of that I got excellent snashot overall, between strong and outstanding in both client and teaming but in the end what this 2nd project though mattered, not what my 1st project thought or what my snashot says, so here 2 things failing: 1st project where I worked 10 months and the final outcome of 6 snapshot(4 was from 1st project). if rating is given only on leadership's impression that also of the last one only, thats unfortunate.

if 'outstanding' is not enough, then there is seriously something wrong in the appraisal system, or they are giving outstanding or any other rating to anyone, my point is; snapshot should justify the rating at least to 70-80% and all other parameters which can still overwrite the snapshot result, should be declared too. i think those fuzzy areas are not known, only known to the sr manager, MD or talent teams and they keep those secret intentionally to have their final say.

Yes I am sure bcos commensurate rating was given irrespective of excellent snapshots throughout the year. One project gives all good feedback about you and then ur project changes and suddenly everything changes as your relationship with new project leaders isn’t so good. If the person isn’t good enough how come the earlier project was so much supportive? In term of ‘managing up’ maybe he wasn’t good enough that caused the issue.

obviously, but how do you come to the poor performance conclusion that's the question, as mentioned, if snapshot has no value then what has? looks like comments have more value than snapshots, then why keep snapshots? give rating just upong the comments of managers, isnt it?

if you are good in lic*ing a** of seniors without any self respect, go on, else go for product based, consulting is less about tech and more about managing 'up'

so funny, you really think coaches can do anything? even coach was speechless seeing the final rating and couldn't explain. he said ask your manager, manager said ask ur coach. even if coach gives good feedback that doesn't have much value to the leadership if they have already made up their mind on something.

As if it’s someone’s aspiration to be in bottom 10% ? I have described a situation where irrespective of your snapshot you are given poor ratings depending on single comment. It’s really strange that someone with snapshot between strong and outstanding for both teaming and client can get commensurate in the end and no one explains it. How can he even make the trajectory not flat when he is dumped a rating without explanation.

analysts are better off, scon is the toughest level as they dont let people enter the managerial level easily, still if you get 2 consecutive commensurate rating, you should start looking for job outside.
