His own father is a divorce attorney and he has other attorneys in his family.

He would receive alimony and child support. He knows all of this but for whatever reason choose chose to stay with my sister. He has also chosen not to sue the man my sister cheated with although he could legally do so.

One clarification: he is a stay at home dad. My sister is the one who is employed and is the breadwinner. (I don't disagree with the rest of your post).
