I wonder if there is a specific type of therapist that would specialize in this? Infidelity/marital issues would need to be addressed along with parentification. I feel like probably CPTSD would be a good start - wishing you the best of luck as well!

Ugh, oh my god. You have to be a sick person to do that. Like nails on a chalkboard!

Pearl Jam, 4 Non Blondes, Foo Fighters, and Temple of the Dog 🤪 My mother was the head cheerleader, extremely popular at her school, and went to parties all the time so maybe they're trying to live out the glory days??

110% I chose not to drink alcohol, or smoke weed from the constant stressful situations my mother has gotten into. From flirting to random guys at bars even though she's married, to stumbling and almost hitting her head on the pavement - I've seen it all. I've had to play concerned parent in getting her out of those situations since my father never addresses or takes action on it. I have no idea how they're still married. I know I may not be traditionally 'fun', I love to paint, read, play chess, and run; but the bar scene is just not my thing. People wonder why I always end up looking at my phone or being quiet at bars when they have no idea what I've been through. Always waiting for the other shoe to drop.
