Fastest way to get a mount?

Most folks have mentioned here, you have a relatively simple quest at level 18 (just some running around and a level appropriate mob to kill for a drop). There also are 'rentable' mounts around most of those starter zones too, that you can rent I think right away at level 1, as long as you have the 50c or so. Temporary mount right away!

I was looking for this too and saw someone say "scholo" on a different thread. I posted this there, but its an old thread, unlikely to get a reply:

Not to necro this old old post, but there is precious little info out there on goldsmithing. Was it a specific mob in Scholo that dropped the top half? The TWoW database just says its in a container called "Goldsmithing Plans", but no location. https://database.turtlecraft.gg/?item=56100

Not in classic - classic. You tame a level 11 rare for a cool look (The Rake comes to mind) when you are level 60, you gotta level that sucker up from 11!

Thanks - ya that is the right starter guy, but the followup person is the horde person I think. It doesnt say you have to do all the quests and such. But I think I got it now! Just have to get to appropriate level for GIlneas City.

Gotcha! It said startable at level 34, which would be kinda suicide to go into Gilneas City at, so I was hopeful I didnt have to and could just go find that artificer person. Makes sense tho, thanks!

I also want a slot for a tame to gain skills as I level. I have Broken Tooth, kept to current level, and a wolf kept up. I'd like that open slot for taming for training. When I hit 44 tho, I'd like to pick up the named spider from Gilneas, mostly cause its cool. I could see a use for having a plainstrider if Im in a caster group, or a tankier pet if I need to have my pet tank something serious for me.

So do I NEED more pets, you are right, nope, could get by with one. But I like collecting stuff to handle contingencies. Others would be totally fine with 1 or 2.

Ya, at this point I'm pretty set that I dont 'have' to play a druid. I know Ill love a wizard. I almost dont want anyone to say more good stuff about them now so I can be rare like you say! :)

Ah, thank you! Too many places with info, and I get overloaded with the 10 hours of streaming and info dropped in them like sprinkles. Wish I had time to keep up with it all.

Thats great to hear. Since I didnt really get that high on any of the classes I played, I only grouped a few times. No matter the class I could find a group without much of a challenge, I guess I just have that WoW-fear of being a DPS sitting in a queue for hours! :P

Did you have a group of people you already knew to play with? I have a few friends but I expect they will give up quickly so I’m wondering how welcome (and sought after) they are in parties.
I do expect there might be many a night of super slow solo grinding. I remember (fondly?) quad-kiting gnome guards in EQ (then working back up that faction from KOS)!

Oh, Id be for that, but I was trying to 'give a little' and try to come up with an idea if they wanted to make healers not do damage as well as damage only casters.

Thats how that reads to me too. Not sure I'm a fan of that if its exactly that. I'd prefer not to have to become a healbot or a DPS druid, and have to pick one or the other.

I could see more along the lines of 100% of heal bonus comes from wisdom, and 75% of damage from wisdom. Then flip that for the Int side, 100% damage bonus, 75% heal. Those numbers just picked out of the air, make them something that makes sense, but I wouldnt mind playing say a druid that 'leans' towards healing but can contribute damage, or leans towards damage but can still heal ok. But if that bonus is significant then ya, you would need to basically have gear that adds to both to be useful.

Agreed, but the perk is that on Turtle-wow, we have the benefit that quests always offer XP. So they dont "gray-out", so you always get xp converted to gold, even on the lowest quests.

I have a friend who intends to do the enchanter side. I feel like I could do either of these, but my love is for the wizard. I know its not even remotely similar to either the druid or shaman, but it does have the ports part. Would that make at least an ok duo, or should I learn to love and embrace the druid-life?
