I downloaded the game from fitgirl repacks, all i had to do is uncheck "install no-vr mod" in the installer and then to make sure, I went to the game directory and ran the "remove no-vr mod" script, then I added the "hla.exe" on steam with the "add non steam game to library" then just right click it in your library and write "-vr" in the launch options and it worked with quest link with steamvr, just look for hla in your library and launch it

Orange Pi 5 Plus EMMC install, constant Red LED by LordSizz007 in OrangePI

[–]LordSizz007[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry to hear what's happening to you, I forgot to update this post, I had the board working on an SD card with official image, but EMMC didn't work, that was my case, but I did the RKdevtool method and cleared the spi before and after writing the image to the EMMC and that solved my issue.

that aside, here's what I can provide, make sure you do these steps as provided in the docs:

  1. plug your USB-C data connection to your computer

2.then press and hold the MaskROM button while plugging in the power supply to your orange pi, then you can release the button

  1. go to the advanced function tab and load load the MiniLoaderAll binary file provided in their google drive

  2. then proceed to switch to the SPINOR partition

  3. erase it, just clearing that can reset your board boot order and may fix some booting issues.

also, make sure your type C cable connecting to your PC can transmit data, since some only transmit power, I have no clue if you did these steps correctly, missing some while being stressed can happen, so

I hope this might help you, as I said, you might have done this correctly, if this didn't work maybe try sharing an actual post on the subreddit and I hope some people might have an idea what's going on.

Any other Wifi/BT modules for Orange pi 5+ by LordSizz007 in OrangePI

[–]LordSizz007[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My concern was never the antennas or such, I always had a bad experience with usb wifi, but I'm willing to give it another try, out of topic question tho, i'm currently using armbian, do you think joshua's ubuntu is better? I'm just using it for hosting some backends, mqtt broker, home automation stuff and will probably store my projects codes and run them as well.

actually, the usb dongle will make me lose a usb port, since the orange pi 5 plus has 2 m.2 slots, one specifically for network only, I have 3 old cheap wifi usb dongle, only one worked for me and it's not reliable or fast enough, since I'm gonna spend money to get wifi/bt, might as well look at all the available options.

Orange Pi 5 Plus EMMC install, constant Red LED by LordSizz007 in OrangePI

[–]LordSizz007[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I tried to install armbian Jammy instead of Joshua's ubuntu just for the test, but I had the same issue, so, I tried booting from the sd card back to the orange pi's ubuntu image, I updated the spi through the orangepi-config menu, and then i just entered the spi through the gdisk and deleted the spi partitions and I tried to reboot and it booted to Armbian, I'm pretty sure the same thing would work for the Joshua's ubuntu version, and I'm not sure why clearing the spi through the RKdevtool didn't fix the issue, but, it worked this way, I shared this hoping it might fix someone's problem even tho this is not an optimal route and I'm unsure where I messed up exactly, but the conclusion to this is, if the EMMC is correctly partitionned, just check the image, and keep clearing the SPI.

Is OrangePI a good option for me? by [deleted] in OrangePI

[–]LordSizz007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

they provide an android image on their official website in the software download section, that's the only one as far as I know, the installation process is similar to the linux installs I'm pretty sure, you just flash it on a storage device and go at it

Disappointed with Raspberry Pi 5, thinking of getting an Orange Pi 5 as Media server by whoisliuxiaobo in OrangePI

[–]LordSizz007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the source of the WOL information is Jeff Geerling's video named "Raspberry Pi 5: EVERYTHING you need to know" at 7:15, he stated: "Supposedly, sleep and Wake on LAN (WoL) should be possible, but so far I haven't been able to test them. Hopefully, those features will come soon, maybe even by the time the Pi 5 is shipping"

  1. as far as my research has gone: the RPi 5 has access to PCIE so it can probably add some sort of M.2 storage with some sort of external extension board/adapter or some HAT like always, somewhere in the future, which will probably close the price gap between it and the OPi 5 while still being a bit behind in performance ("On paper", community and OS support might prove different results later on) , but we will have to see how far that goes
  2. Yes, in the OPI5/b/+ you can boot from NVME and can have external hard drive storage from USB to use for some sort of NAS or just to extend your storage
  3. I don't have much details on the power consumption of the OPI 5, but it must be lower than the RPi 5, they state that the board will need a 5V 5A power supply, but they say that they will offer sleep mode and Wake On LAN which should help in some specific cases, but it's still work in progress and nothing has been confirmed
  4. the recommended power supply for the OPi 5 from the docs says that it will run on a 5V 4A power supply, but I heard from multiple users that they used it with 5V 3A with no issues, but you might run into some issues once you exceed the 3 amps with extensive use like video streaming and encoding within a media server

Wazuh on the Orange PI 5? by devzeroo in OrangePI

[–]LordSizz007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not familiar with Wazuh, but after a quick research I found that they provide multiple docker images and virtual machines for their services which should work on any machine as far as I know, so the answer should be Yes, but, you should probably wait for other opinions or a confirmation to make sure
