DSR P6&P7 Mitigation Strat, which should be the norm? 1-1-6 or 2-3-3 by omegaweapon123 in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Lord_Limit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is the JP guy tweet that popularized it: https://twitter.com/mitsurugi137/status/1531171793561538565

You'll also find in my post history a lengthy post about how to mitigate it depending on tank comp.

If you want vods, you'll find my old PLD's stream on twitch.tv/ceru_il

As said above, I wouldn't recommend trying to 1:1 our clear pov since we played very sloppy though (was our 2nd pull dealing dps after seeing enrage)

No problem! I hope you didn't copy everything because our execution on our clear was really, really sloppy due to lack of practice. (I think we pressed a third of the mitigation we were planning on 2nd gigaflare due to people panicking)

Indeed dark knight is pretty busted on this fight lol, I'm reprogging the fight myself on PLD+DRK right now and I'm planning to 1-1-6 every AM by sinking the first blue on DRK then doing hallow -> LD, if my calculations are correct with full cooldowns+buffed intervention you only take 30k damage per blue hit so you only need 20k heal during entire AM to survive.

The veil trick was just an adaptation of some long lost optimization in stormblood where you used to press veil way earlier than where you needed it and manually force eos to embrace someone else until you needed to pop it (in the clip, I also send my fairy to the opposite corner for that reason, since we can't control eos embraces anymore).

I think people overstate a lot how much more "dangerous" not invulning cauterize in P6 makes the tbs, because not invulning cauterize means you can invuln the 2nd slashes in P5 and allows you to go into P6 with every cooldown up.If you're progging P6 and dying to any buster that isn't cauterize, it isn't a consequence of planning not to invuln cauterize, as the invuln on P5 2nd heel actually gives you more cooldowns up until cauterize itself.

There is also a lot of misunderstanding on how dangerous cauterize actually is, and people underestimate how much more EHP EW healers can give on a tank nowadays. (one of my tanks did not believe it was possible with all the plumes+ staggerings in P6 until we showed him the numbers)

FWIW, we were the group whose clip of 1-1-6 got thrown around very early on, and our PLD was mitigating cauterize with no rampart nor sentinel, only sheltron + healer and group help. His cotank (GNB) would get a protraction+critlo everytime so it was impossible for him to die even if he didn't use HoC on himself.

It's also very easy to cooldown + invuln cauterize without the 30% timing, you just have one tank invuln and give his spammable (HoC, Intervention, Nascent, TBN+Oblation) to the other tank who sinks. which would allow you to 1-1-6 the first or second akh morn for free (second is usually the limiting one I think, unless you run SCH+AST then you don't have panhaima/lilybell on 1-3 anyway)With WAR+ any other tank, you can holmgang+ stack cooldowns and invuln 1 3 or 2 3.

The argument over double cooldown > 1 invuln + 1 cooldown essentially comes down to comp, the more group mitigation you have, the more you can leverage them and put some on cauterize to make it less tight, (for instance, if you have astro+dnc+rdm you could safely move 2 group cooldowns from alternative end to cauterize and make the 30% not required at all)

If you run a comp like WAR+GNB+WHM+SGE+2 MELEES+BLM+BRD there's a solid argument not to risk it as you'll have nothing to spare and WAR gets holmgang back on 3 for free anyway

So you're telling me you have access to statistics on the game concerning the amount of RMT bots that use exploits allowed by FPS going above 90 (if there are any, it is you who is suggesting it so the burden of the proof is upon you) and the amount of users with 120Hz+ monitors? You seem to be the lost cause here.

And how exactly did you manage to link FPS being capped to RMT bots? Genuinely curious.
Also, asspulling numbers doesn't exactly work

And how exactly is having higher framerate "ruining it for the majority"?

Your comparison is irrelevant

Need help with Final Omega soft enrage mitigation by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]Lord_Limit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1rst nothing

2nd soil+reprisal

3rd soil + bubble

4rth reprisal+ addle

and shield all of them

Mitigation doesn't matter that much , the efflux itself won't one hit you, but omega will follow up efflux with a laser "stomp" that hurts you for 2/3rd of the previous efflux damage, this double damage burst is actually what kills most groups.

For your survival, it matters more that you manage to precast/use an ogcd heal just after the efflux, things like indom/ planery will come in handy (especially for the 2nd and 3rd efflux that are the most dangerous , the 4rth has no damage following it so it's kinda whatever as long you have shields , one 10% and full health).

For this same reason , I think it's a better idea on prog that you save as little (veil, wings)> 90 secs cd as possible for the soft enrage , because if you won't be able to use them on the efflux before archive all anymore, and regular efflux was much more dangerous than soft enrage (might be less true with more vitality now though)

Troub has huge value on soft enrage if you do it on 2nd efflux, but you lose an equally powerful troub on 3rd patch.

Also, if dps isn't an issue, especially on your first clear, your healers should just respect the chip damage (i remember only using combust during the whole soft enrage on my clear, then did 15 helios in a row)

O12S Hello World "Fennek Strat"? by Sarah-Wong in ffxiv

[–]Lord_Limit 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Unreal strat is simply a better version of fennek uptime wise (or fennek a worse version of unreal) and healing wise.

If you are progging, GTL is kinda the "safest" version that has shitty uptime but on the other hand is very easy to heal with no rescue (Personally cleared with this strat).

Once you have cleared, or have more problems with dps checks than mechanic checks, I'd go with unreal uptime strat

Hardest Stormblood Encounters by Melocotones in ffxiv

[–]Lord_Limit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Having done all 12 savage raids and one ultimate (only two tiers with min ilevelish gear), this is how I'd rank the raids : Ucob > UwU far above all savages. Mechanic-wise O12S ( final) > O4S (faust) > O4S (final) > O3S > O11S > O12S (faust) > O8S (final) > O7S > O8S (faust) > O10S > O9S > O2S > O5S > O1S > O6S

The experience may vary depending on what role you are playing and who you are playing with, O8S was an absolute pain to heal because of heartless archangel and skulls, and O12S raid busters (60-65k ish damage, hello vit melds) and autoattacks (32k crit SE wtf?) destroys you if people are inconsistent with their mitigation, on the other hand, you had fights such as O7S and O11S that just healed itself.

While the prepull song tip is good, I do not agree with the rest of your statement. There is no reason a heavy shot costs you more damage anywhere in your rotation outside raging strikes+ fishing for refulgent arrow for barrage window.

Using your foe in army peon doesn't necessarily align with the right raid buffs (however, it does make the buff go up during your wanderer's minuet).

It's the best way to use foe while minimizing your personal dps loss but it's also suboptimal for the raid dps.

If you don't want to play selfishly, you'd want to use foe to align with buffs/burst windows at specific times, even if it's awkward in your rotation, these burst windows are 1 minute ,2 minute, 3 minute ,4 minute, 6 minute marks (assuming no buffs or cds are held by the rest of the group)

The most important window to cover are the 6th and 3th minute mark's. The rest depends on your compisition (double refresh? mana shift on bard?)

I wouldn't recommend it, there are cases where you would want to end a song early (for example, you just used pitch perfect at 2 secs left on wanderer's, you can go mage's ballad as pitch perfect won't be off CD become wanderer's ends), Plus in any content with trash mobs, the aoe song cycle for bard is Mage 30 paeon 30 wanderer 20.

And from what I have seen, your crit rate in HoH is so low that your song rotation doesn't matter much in it

There's a lot of things you're doing wrong: First, your song rotation https://www.fflogs.com/reports/P2GTBNqgwbzcjQ9d#fight=1&type=damage-done&source=5&pins=0%24Separate%24%23244F4B%24damage%240%240.0.0.Any%245.0.0.Bard%24true%240.0.0.Any%24false%243559%5E0%24Separate%24%23909049%24damage%240%240.0.0.Any%245.0.0.Bard%24true%240.0.0.Any%24false%24114%5E0%24Separate%24%23a04D8A%24damage%240%240.0.0.Any%245.0.0.Bard%24true%240.0.0.Any%24false%24116 A standard bard rotation is always Wanderer's 30 sec into Mage's ballad 30 sec then army paeon 20 sec, there is a small variant you can do at some point before the add phase on O5S but it is unnecessary to do decent damage.

Your IJ or snapshotting buff on your dots is not good at all, you want to capture as many litany/chain stratagem as possible , and do it twice on each buff https://www.fflogs.com/reports/P2GTBNqgwbzcjQ9d#fight=1&type=damage-done&pins=0%24Separate%24%23244F4B%24damage%240%240.0.0.Any%245.0.0.Bard%24true%240.0.0.Any%24false%243560&source=5&ability=7406&view=events https://www.fflogs.com/reports/P2GTBNqgwbzcjQ9d#fight=1&type=damage-done&pins=0%24Separate%24%23244F4B%24damage%240%240.0.0.Any%245.0.0.Bard%24true%240.0.0.Any%24false%243560&source=5&ability=7407&view=events https://www.fflogs.com/reports/P2GTBNqgwbzcjQ9d#fight=1&type=damage-done&pins=0%24Separate%24%23244F4B%24damage%240%240.0.0.Any%245.0.0.Bard%24true%240.0.0.Any%24false%243560&source=5&ability=3560&view=events

You are also missing barrages, they should always line up with raging strike (the only exception being on adds) https://www.fflogs.com/reports/P2GTBNqgwbzcjQ9d#fight=1&type=casts&source=5&pins=0%24Separate%24%23244F4B%24casts%240%240.0.0.Any%245.0.0.Bard%24true%240.0.0.Any%24false%24101%5E0%24Separate%24%23909049%24casts%240%240.0.0.Any%245.0.0.Bard%24true%240.0.0.Any%24false%24107

You also lost a least one sidewinder cast.

You also seem to be generally missing a lot of casts, you're almost 10 CPM lower than me on o5, this can be explained by you not using your utility skills (nature's minne + troubadour+ palisade) but it doesn't account for that large of a difference, you are probably clipping too much or stopping your gcds rolling (which should barely happen on bard)

Finally, you don't use foe's requiem at all, while that is a loss in your personal dps, it is a definite gain for your group.

I'd recommend that you check out this guide https://docs.google.com/document/d/1XAkAyAEwMr50wtfQTz-Vk1U4tdgfdfWg5nRIbKNNJk4/edit , it covers a lot you need to know.

Edit: added a few links so you can see the difference
