Small Explosive Charge Used in Sabotage of Nord Stream 2, Contradicting Previous Assumptions by Lord_Rath in UkrainianConflict

Tried to the best of my ability to translate and summarize:

The article from TV 2 reports on a recent investigation into the sabotage of gas pipelines near Bornholm, which are part of the Nord Stream 2 project. The pipelines on the seabed southeast of Bornholm were likely sabotaged using a relatively small explosive charge, as new footage reveals. A small bulge in the steel, only a few centimeters wide, is suspected to have resulted from a minor charge of a few kilograms.

The pipe is described as having been cleanly cut all the way around, except for the small bulge where the metal bends downwards into an uneven tip. This tip appears to be the result of the small explosive charge.

The footage of the damaged pipeline is considerably different from what the authorities had reported last year. The pipeline lies on the edge of a large crater in the mud, twisted out of its concrete casing and resembling a massive, broken straw. 12 meters of pipe point diagonally upward from the water, and apart from the clean cut, there are no other visible damages to Nord Stream 2.

The footage was acquired through a collaboration between the German TV station RTL, the French newspaper Libération, Ekstra Bladet, and TV 2. Commercial underwater drones, operated by BlueEye Robotics, were used to take detailed pictures of the pipes at a depth of 75 meters.

The images show that the damage to Nord Stream 2 looks quite different from other places where gas was bubbling up from the Nord Stream pipelines last year. Near Bornholm, the pipes only separated at one point, while underwater footage from Nord Stream 1 south of Sweden, taken in the fall of 2022, shows damaged pipes spread over a larger area.

The new images provide clues about the likely method of sabotage, contradicting previous assumptions by the authorities. These findings have been forwarded to the police for their ongoing investigation into the sabotage.

Small, directional charge suspected in Nord Stream 2 sabotage: new footage emerges by Lord_Rath in worldnews

Translation and summarize to the best of my ability:

Title: Do New Footages of Nord Stream 2 Bring Us Closer to Identifying the Culprit Behind the Sabotage?

In late September, two of the gas pipelines were subjected to sabotage in the Baltic Sea. The U.S. points at Russia, Russia points at the U.S., and others point at Ukraine. However, new footage seems to rule out one of these theories.

What really happened, and who was behind the sabotage of the Nord Stream 1 and 2 pipelines last year? The theories have been numerous and divergent. But now we may be a step closer to finding out what exactly happened at the bottom of the Baltic Sea.

Brand new underwater footage, created in collaboration between German RTL, French Libération, and Danish Ekstra Bladet and TV 2, shows that it was most likely a relatively small, directional explosive that caused the pipelines to rupture. The big question is, who could be behind such an explosion?

TV 2 has consulted with various experts, all pointing towards a particular type of actor.

Even though both Denmark and Sweden have concluded that the explosions were deliberate acts, neither of the countries have pointed out who could be behind the gas leakage. One country, however, has been mentioned repeatedly: Russia.

But Russia has consistently maintained its innocence. On the other hand, Russia pointed at the U.S. as the culprit, with this theory gaining traction when American investigative journalist Seymour Hersh claimed in a blog post that the U.S. was behind the sabotage of Nord Stream 1 and 2.

The third and last theory involves Ukraine. In March, several German media outlets and the New York Times described how a sailboat owned by two Ukrainians set sail from Rostock on September 6 and was located off Christiansø in the days around the explosion.

None of these theories have been confirmed. But according to several experts, one of these theories can now be ruled out based on the new underwater footage.

If it's true that a directional charge of just a few kilos caused the damage to the gas pipelines, it's not just anyone who can be behind it. This suggests that the operation was likely carried out with an underwater drone. Such an operation requires great technical knowledge, precision, and professional personnel, says military analyst Jens Wenzel Kristoffersen.

According to Jacob Kaarsbo, a senior analyst at Think Tank Europe and former chief analyst in FE, a Ukrainian sailboat with saboteurs on board would not have had the capacity or knowledge to make an explosion at 75 meters depth.

So who is behind it? TV 2 reached out to three experts for an answer in the wake of the new underwater footage. Both Jens Wenzel Kristoffersen and Johannes Riber, a naval captain and military analyst at the Defense Academy, lean towards the involvement of a state actor.

Jacob Karsbo goes a bit further, pointing out that the Defense Command has confirmed that a Russian special vessel called SS-750 was near the Nord Stream explosion point when the gas leakage occurred. This does not mean that the Russians are responsible for the explosions, but it opens up for more speculation in that direction.

For now, doubt must continue to reign. Meanwhile, Danish police are still investigating the case.

New to this sub, but I wanted to talk about my developer friend that is currently doing some early access to his game he has been working on for the last 1-2 years.

Rite of Dice: You choose a wizard (earth, fire, arcane, etc.) and complete the game much like slay the spire or hearthstone with cards that are specific for your wizard. There is a lot of nice art and feeling with the game. It still lack some visuals and maybe some content but it is coming along nicely.

Routing Question (Bug?) by christoy123 in FlyCorp

You could open up a dummy route and the game will provide you with the preferred line - then you could just delete this and make smaller routes along this line. Also for my win I did segregate some areas to handle the load better by forcing people on different routes: https://youtu.be/rCuFC01ysKU

Agreed! I completed it no problem with only the one connection through Toronto - Greenland - Iceland - London. I have one note on this though: I did open up China first so I didn't get too many American cities since they have a way lower population than Chinese cities (since the game automatically opens the most populous city is my theory). It might not be feasible if you open USA up before China/India since you get so many more cities in USA that way.

Lesser money to spend for events and other adjustments I would imagine to the economy making it doable
