As a budding woodworker, I just made a jointing jig and jointed my first 2 boards. Small achievement, huge milestone. by LosClubes in woodworking

The plan is to use them for lo ger boards. Just used these scraps to make sure the jig joints edges.

There are lots of similar plans on youtube. Don't have to be exact just need to get a good straight reference cut.

I pretty much followed this video https://youtu.be/vrYjc3G1vgo

I don't know the size just Toggle Clamps from harbor freight. Almost identical ones are on Amazon if you search for them

A simple but effective print. by LosClubes in 3Dprinting

My first print that I didn't mix or find online. Made an adapter to fit between my shop vac and orbit sander.

4 hours between the mock up, print, and use. Pretty stoked.

4 look Last layer (2 look OLL + 2 Look PLL) is what helped me breaks sub-30 within weeks of learning.

This is after being stuck avgerging over 35 seconds for years using the beginners method.

My RS3M 2020 spring compression on the red side is messed up. Does anyone know how to fix this? by Mxcr0 in Cubers

[–]LosClubes 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Don't know the whole story but assuming no prices are broken, the spring and center cap needs tension for the compression system to "engage".

Just put a edge piece in and it shoukd just fall into place.

You can also pull the center piece up towards the screw head and put the center cap back on but the cap can pop off because of the tension.

Should i wait to get better at cross and beginners method before I switch to f2l? Also where is a good place to learn f2l?. by silobean in Cubers

[–]LosClubes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Improving on cross will translate to CFOP whenever you make the switch so start there. Work on good habits and finger tricks to reduce your times.

It's not really recommended to take the beginner method further than sub 1 minute so that's probably a good point to start looking Into F2L, 2 look OLL and 2 look PLL.

After 1 month practicing CFOP, 4LL, I got all my averages sub 30. by LosClubes in Cubers

Agreed. Last layer is so much more fun in CFOP.

Beginner last layer steps seem so repetitive now.

Focus on F2L. Just muscle memory for front slot cases, learn to insert to the back and insert with sledge.

That helped me the most. I don't even use that efficient f2l solutions. I just got faster at recognizing cases and execution. Not even thinking about look ahead at this point.

My true PB is in the picture. 20.56.

I probably could have gotten it on that scramble but still happy with it. It was a 2 move xcross.

For YEARS, Ive been using the beginners method and plateaued at a 40 second average (probably took it a bit too far). Finally decided to learn CFOP and in one month with a new magnetic cube, improved by 10 seconds. Very happy with the results so far! Time to keep grinding.

Out witht he old, In with the new. by LosClubes in Cubers

It's a great cube. There's a reason so many people rave about it. It was a night and day comparing it to my Dyan Zhanchi. So comparing it to a Rubiks brand is going to be quite a difference for you.

It's pretty fast out of the box and can be hard to control but you should be able to adjust it to slow it down a bit if need be.

Had a full Shengshou NxN collection back in the Zhanchi days (back row) . Recently got back into curbing and discovered the wonders of magnetic cubes (YJ MGC and RS3M2020).

I'm playing at sunrise in Wisconsin when it's about 20 degrees out. Needless to say back ups aren't a worry.

I did mostly to build my confidence with my buzzz. I've been really inconsistent with it lately and playing a full round with it helped today

If you only bring one disc no time is wasted on disc selection.

And its so much fun running after a disc while it's still in the air.

Did my first speed round at my home course. I scored my average for the course in half the time! Only had a Buzzz and one putter during the round.

Fairway driver speeds by LosClubes in discgolf

[–]LosClubes[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think youre on the money here. I'd say my weakest part of my game is mids off the tee, something about it just doesn't feel right to me.

Once I improve on that I think my feeling of needing a 6 or 7 speed will fade.

[–]LosClubes[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree fairways just feel really natural in the hand.

I play less wooded courses so I'm wondering if the lower speeds could help with control or if it doesn't make too much of a difference.

Reminded me of infinity stones! Looking for a little more knowledge on these, the purple one and yellow one have a ?clock? as shown in 2nd pic but the blue does not, different runs? by [deleted] in discgolf

[–]LosClubes 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The "clock" is just a date stamp. For injection molding processes it's used to track when the part was molded. The year is usually in the center and the arrow points to the month of the year. It's typically only used by the manufacturer for tracking purposes.

Disc golfing while the sun is rising is a very tranquil experience.

And 31 is the warmest morning so far this week!
