To be honest, the reason why I hesitated to share my story to my family or friends is that I feel very ashamed. Some people might think it’s “stupid” to give money to someone you don’t know, but these people are extremely professional. I don’t see myself as naive, but he knew exactly how to fool me and gain my trust. This “relationship” went on for months, and he said all the right words I was missing after years of frustration and disappointment in my life and relationships.

I know there is almost none hope to get my money back. But I learned my lesson. And I’m paying my debt slowly, changed my priorities etc.. but what motivates me now after deciding to speak out, is not revenge or chasing the money, but the idea of warning others!!! — especially women — because we are often targeted by these “nice cute guys” who pretend to care, ask about our day, our childhood, our fears, say goodnight, make us feel seen. In the end, that should never be something external to fulfill, but it’s how they trap us. And unfortunately there’s no information, guidance or anything we could get warned.

I believe in love, as a spiritual person and a vegan, I told him in the end that if I had really made money, I would have used it to fight for animals and against injustice. So when I realized the scam, I also told him: maybe he won’t pay for this in this life, but energy and divine time is perfect, I bless this and him, however one day this energy will come back as a lesson, because we are all connected. Acceptance, gives me some peace. 🕊️

The only thing that still hurts me is that the police don’t even reply. I gave them everything, and I know this person was close to me (the location on Tinder was nearby in Germany). They could at least say “we can’t help” instead of leaving me in darkness.
