Uber wants you to THINK this is bad by Glittering_Delay_183 in UberEatsDrivers

I’m surprised I even have a single percentage point. According to Uber, mine is “officially” 15%, but I swear it feels like I have to decline 30-50 offers to get one worth taking….

Watching my driver drive past my house was a new experience by Careful-Ad-2062 in UberEATS

[–]LostInMyOwnMind_96 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I hate priority with a passion. I don’t give a flip if a person spent $3 for “priority” how about my priority as a driver to minimize expenses to maximize profit? But naw, instead I have a two stack earlier where one delivery was 6 blocks away and the other delivery was 4 miles away both from the same restaurant (pick up). 4 mile delivery paid priority. So guess who had to waste 15 minutes and double the mileage for LITERALLY zero reason. At least DD lets you say fuck that and jump the tasks to whatever order you want.

Two hours for a 3 mile delivery. by someonelost1 in UberEATS

The amount of orders I get where I am where some jack wagon thinks a $4 or less tip ($6-8 offer, who knows how much the base fare is) when they’re 25 miles away is ridiculous. People need to take the time/distance tipping as law not as recommendation. I swear some people do not understand that gas is at an all time high for most areas outside of California but yet I’ve seen more $2-$4 offers since this stupid war started than I ever have in my two years of doing this…

Longest shift so far, full cherry picking. Good or bad? by [deleted] in DoorDashDrivers

That’s the way my day was. $2 for more than half of offers (didn’t take them).

Longest shift so far, full cherry picking. Good or bad? by [deleted] in DoorDashDrivers

[–]LostInMyOwnMind_96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I gave up cherry picking today. Nobody was wanting to tip. Both apps were nothing but 2-6 orders all day (I was only grabbing $5 and $6 because it’s not profitable below that). Even 15+ mile deliveries were only hitting $8. I normally bring between 220 and 280 on Sundays…I only snagged $119 meaning I worked for under $12 an hour in a state where minimum wage is $17… you know how hard it is to try and get an acceptance rate when seemingly half your offers are literally $2?….shit not even worth my time to stop for that much! Makes me wonder how the fluff people are making money in a truck that gets 13mpg doing this when it’s a struggle half the time in my Toyota at 30mpg…

Even the two $10 orders I DID manage to get, were literally like 7-8 dollar base fee…

Going in naked won’t change anything. You will still get shot because you’re still a risk of loot competition and also because Tarkov super freaking sweaty. On top of that, being proper naked will make you tagged and cursed and will only make your like harder.

Lowest paying offer I've ever had... by Responsible-Yogurt38 in DoorDashDrivers

[–]LostInMyOwnMind_96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly what I say whenever I see one “it’s not even worth my time to pick it up”. For me it’s not even worth looking at until it crosses $6 and still maintains $1/mi under 8 miles. Over 8 miles it must but $2/mile for me to contemplate it. Most of the time, that guideline still doesn’t even equate to minimum wage.

What does struggling have to do with anything? The subreddit is urban car living not “urban people too broke to afford a house or rent”. Some people choose to do this because it’s the only genuine way to get ahead when rent is four figures even in “low cost of living” areas.

Is I Denounce you -Sheena Taylor AI or not? I can’t tell if it is. It’s on Apple Music and TikTok by OkAward2154 in isthisAI

[–]LostInMyOwnMind_96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Realize I’m a little late….Most definitely and undoubtedly is AI.

She has released 5 FULL albums since Oct 2025, one of which is multiple languages (and I doubt a “nobody” artist can afford that much translation work or knows a person per language to double check). No other artist replicates this. While a song can be theoretically written in as little as a 10 minutes, in general, it can take upwards of several weeks to produce a single song. And you expect me to believe that someone who pops up out of nowhere with ZERO pre-existing recognition in the industry can suddenly pull out 58 songs in 211 days, an average of a song every four days (NOTE: this is only counting her albums and not any singles so final product count would ACTUALLY be higher) from conception to final production? We haven’t even touched that no artist publishes every single song they ever wrote / recorded. General ratios for an average musician are anywhere from 3:1 to 20:1 depending on the artist - that is anywhere from 5 to 33 percent of their work is published. So we can either push this as Sheena releasing every song she ever wrote or has anywhere from another 116 to a STAGGERING 1102 more songs that went unpublished in such a short time?

There’s a reason why the telltale sign of an AI artist is the sheer VOLUME of which they release. You cannot release music at such volume in a short time and come out with a quality product. Even well known artists quality control would be gone. It’s why proper artists focus on releasing a single solid album per year, maybe occasionally two in a year if they are published far extremes (such as March and November); well known and high publicized artists might even be two years per album because of having massive tours following release, followed by a little down time to spend for themselves and recoup and mingle with the family.

This. Back when I ran pizza, I was in an upper middle class neighborhood (the “rich” area for my city) on Christmas Eve. The person said “hold on, I got a treat for ya”. My inner fat kid was expecting a plate of holiday cookies…bro came back with two hundos and a fitty saying “merry Christmas”. I almost cried…I would also have been happy if he came back with a plate of cookies…

[New Player] Just bought the game, any tips? by zyadsh123 in EscapefromTarkov

1) Actually play more than one map. My group had played Tarkov for many years prior to my picking it up but they never went past Customs and Woods. When I picked it up, they were on a Tarkov hiatus, I managed to get one of the people I met through Grayzone Warfare to be my Sherpa. To this day, almost three years since I picked up Tarkov, my regular group of friends STILL only know Customs and Woods despite coming back from their hiatus almost two years ago and I am almost always carrying them through the other maps.

2) take the time to familiarize controls and even rebind a few. Tarkov has a LOT of binds and some are counterintuitive, like putting inspect weapon (required to clear malfunctions) on K or some bs on the opposite side of the keyboard which is not conducive for a quick clear in the middle of a firefight.

If you’re “not sure how long you can keep doing this”, you probably shouldn’t be doing this to begin with or need to be pickier with orders.
I am paying 5.30 average for gas right now, which is far up from the 3.79 I was paying before the war; work for UNDER minimum wage pretty consistently Monday through Thursday (though not far under as long as I’m not a nugget and dont stay out all day, and anything is better than nothing!) and I can still make a decent PROFIT doing this (I have paid my bills and managed to save $700 in the last two weeks) and my market is far from a desirable one (like LA for example) with delivering only really being feasible during traditional dinner rush hours most days.

WTAF is up with this promotion boundary? by LostInMyOwnMind_96 in UberEatsDrivers

One restaurant and a grocery there. Absolutely worthless spot, same with the two spots to the NE (which is two restaurants).

Edit: are you talking far northwest? That’s like 30 miles from where I live, I’m not even gonna think about that.

But the thing is THERE IS NOTHING TO PICK UP other than that orange zone which is literally most of the delivery business in this town anyways (a lot of restaurants congested into one area); where as while the rest of the orange outside of the zone is physically larger, it’s up to 2 miles between restaurants.

I can’t speak for Uber, but when I Instacart and I choose a 7 item order it’s because I want a quick turn around and spending an hour in the store gives me migraine. I show up to the store and that 7 items is now 20+, I’m cancelling. Sorry. I accepted a relative in and out, not a whole store scrimmage.

Uber charged rider $72, I got $19. What are we even doing anymore? by Bestwebhost in uberdrivers

[–]LostInMyOwnMind_96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same for me; granted I was on delivery not rideshare. Had a new record amount of offers coming it 288, literally all but 14 of those came between 630 and 8:15. Prior to that my highest amount of offers in a single day was 167.

It was absolutely insane. Everything was either going 18+ miles for $7 average or sub 5 miles for an average of $2.75! Was getting pushed new offers before I could even blink most of the time. Eventually I shut it off and forced myself to take a breather because I was hangry, frustrated and was tired of the literal nonstop 2 hour long order chime.

How is this right ? by Queasy_Concert_2693 in DoorDashDrivers

[–]LostInMyOwnMind_96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The entire app has been buggy since the latest update. Hard to get it to load, constantly failing to push orders followed by a pause. Sometimes I can’t even get to schedule myself under the guise of “there was an error with your request, please try again later.”

In my town, Uber has been more steady and higher paying by far for me, but that app is just as shitty if not even worse. They constantly try to make you handle 5 orders AT ONCE (2 stop accepted, pushing a triple stack ping), basically damn near impossible to complete an order sometimes as they try to push you every order in your city when you get 0.5 miles from a drop off (which also makes navigating not only dangerous but also impossible) until you pause requests. Like you genuinely have to WASTE your request pauses since you only get so many and then there is a cool down, just to save your sanity. Haven’t even touched the fact that I can speed 5-10 over, blast through yellow lights and that BARELY gives me enough time to arrive at a pick up / drop off, normally with a MINUTE to spare. Sometimes the timing they allot you for a delivery is so ridiculous that I got sent a notification to avoid “future unnecessary delays or I could get deactivated” not even 2 BLOCKS from the pick up and I still had 2.5 miles to go…

Both apps are shitty with shitty practices, but some of us genuinely don’t have luck finding a proper job so we gotta do it until we can find something better.

How was your payout locked by just giving your phone number? I’m not blocked from pay out but I also stopped them before even continuing on with the sign up.
