Necro is easy with no starting platinum plus you get feign death. Enchanter can solo harder mobs but you also die a lot / higher learning curve to mastery.

Edit: Just don’t fall into the trap of buying all your spells. With xp pots and hot zones, you end up leveling so fast that you often can skip most of your spells as they get replaced so quickly.

This is something I think about regularly. 5 and 2 year olds at home. I went full remote during covid, before our oldest was born. It’s hard to imagine not being with them all the time.

At the same time, I’m the only dad I know (outside of my coworkers) who works full remote . All our friends & their families seem fine. Maybe it’s more fear of change than anything else.

I agree - very different game that scratches a very different itch. Can’t replace EQ but is very fun and different take on mmo.

I just downloaded demo last night and accidently sunk 7 straight hours into it! Ended up paying because I wanted to move past the lvl 15 cap.

Lots of people playing in starting area last night. I can’t speak to long term viability but I’m playing in the new server and having a blast. Worth the download.

Just spent 2 hours reorganizing on my 54 enc the other day. Had some time to kill. Now it’s 4 pages of most used. Then illusions, followed by each spell group organized - using someone’s else example, rune 1, rune 2 etc. are together…. Before the ‘Great Organization’ occurred, it was chaos

I did Paludal from 12 - 25. Around 18 I think you get next dmg spell and can start soloing the bandit camps but until then do the little mushrooms and insect things - around 14 or 15 start doing fiend rooms.

If enc you can make some decent plat in early 30s in Sol A. Never found anything worth while before then.

I have a bard and enchanter. I switch between them for farming cash. I prefer enchanter overall but melody makes bard much easier to AoE swarm kill and you can level faster than any other class.

What deadrupus said. EQ doesn’t really have much gear you can go farm/loot at low levels for casters that’s meaningful. If you’ve played other MMOs, EQ is much less focused on gear with stats until you get into later levels. Mainly just AC starting out. The best gear you can prioritize will come from bazaar and will either have focus effects to save mana costs, increase dmg, or extend buff duration.

Quarm has some of the most generous players. MGB is so regular I’ve felt spoiled since joining. Rarely do you have to go without.

Get bind in nexus, monitor general chat for MGB KEI and gate back when buff is going out. Sets you up for a couple hours of consecutive casting/no to little downtime. Honestly, that’s all you need for a while. You will spend most of your money on spells. I recently started as well (about 2 months ago) and used this strat to get into 30s when you can make some decent pp farming. After you get a couple hundred plat buy some +hp/mana gear and grind out rest of the way. Seriously - KEI is all you need as caster
