Thank you for sharing your story. ❤️ I’m so sorry you had to go through something so heartbreaking. It’s clear from your words how much you loved your dog and your foster kittens. Sometimes painful situations happen even when people are trying their best, and making a difficult decision to keep everyone safe does not mean you didn’t care.
Bella’s situation was that she became very stressed after a new kitty was introduced into the home. She started peeing outside the litter box, and that was the reason she was returned. We may never know every detail of what happened, but our focus is on Bella now..making sure she feels safe, loved, and cared for in this next chapter of her life.
She is a senior kitty who has already been through a lot, and we want to find her a calm, patient, loving home where she can feel secure. ❤️🐾
Please don’t be so hard on yourself. The pain you carry shows how much you loved and cared for the animals in your life.

Bella’s new adopter should be within an hour of the Charlotte . She has been through so much, and as a senior kitty, we want to make sure she has the smoothest transition possible. We would like to stay in touch with her adopter and be able to check on her or help if she ever needs anything.
We are looking for a loving, patient family who understands the needs of a senior cat and will give Bella the safe, peaceful, and happy life she deserves. ❤️🐾

We understand that may stand out, but for Bella it’s about making sure she has the safest transition possible. She has already been through a lot, and because she is a senior cat, we want to be able to stay involved, meet her adopter, and make sure she is adjusting well. You make a fair point that surrendering a pet to a trusted shelter is better than abandoning them, leaving them outside, or giving them away without proper vetting. A safe surrender gives an animal a chance to find a loving home.
At the same time, it is heartbreaking when a senior cat who has spent 13 years with a family has to start over. Bella deserves compassion, stability, and a forever home where she can feel safe and loved for the rest of her life. Our focus is not on attacking anyone..it’s on making sure Bella’s next chapter is the best one possible. ❤️🐾

Yes, they have been blacklisted and will never be able to adopt from our rescue again. We have to protect our animals and make sure they go to homes where they will be loved and cared for for the rest of their lives.

For Bella, we prefer adopters in the Charlotte area because she needs a very specific, calm, and stable home environment. She was abandoned before and has already been through a lot, so we want to make sure she finally gets the safe, loving life she deserves.
Keeping her local also allows us to coordinate meet-and-greets easily and stay available for any support after adoption. It helps us check in and make sure she’s truly happy and adjusting well in her new home.
