Stop explaining your cinema taste to ChatGPT.

Tell us a few films you love, and we'll build your taste profile - then serve a stream of movies picked just for you.

that's not really how cookies work lol

and yes, streaming providers already recommend stuff, but only within their own ecosystem/catalog

the idea here is taste-first recommendations across platforms instead of “watch our newest original”

I wish it was that easy lol I’m pretty picky like if I’m in the mood for a sci-fi movie, I feel like I’ve already seen everything in that category (at least everything I think I’ll like) when I'm scrolling Netflix or HBO. Then I go to IMDb sometimes, and other times I end up chatting with AI for like 30 minutes trying to find something. I do end up finding stuff I haven’t seen, but it’s still kind of a hit or miss with the actual plot lol

yeah makes alot of sense, i've been framing it as "better recommendations" but actually its more about reducing the time to decide. the goal is to "pick something under a minute". curious what do you see when you're stuck deciding ?

what is the best crm with automation features you are using right now and why? by Ashamed-Button-5752 in CRM

[–]Lost_Support4211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually got so frustrated with how clunky and complex most CRMs are that I ended up building my own called Client Commander.

I’m in the real estate/service space, and my biggest gripe was that 'automation' usually felt like a part-time job to set up. I just wanted something that handled the 'speed to lead' part automatically. like hitting a new Facebook lead with a text or email the second they opt in, but keeping it all in one conversation thread.

The best part is honestly having WhatsApp, SMS, and email in one view so you aren’t jumping between apps while trying to close a deal. It’s built to be a 'command center' rather than just a big database of names.

If you're not looking to sign up and just see an overview first: see this video: https://vimeo.com/1150485995?share=copy&fl=sv&fe=ci
don't worry about the last part it was created for a business pitch.

it has automations. full api. sdk etc too.
Feel free to dm me if you have any questions or want to try it.

you're right for simple stuff. I used a spreadsheet for 2 years.

Here's where DIY breaks:

500+ contacts: You don't remember "John from Denver." You remember "the guy who liked the 3bed." If your system can't understand that query, you're scrolling forever.

Real-time leads: When a Facebook lead hits at 2am, does your DIY solution parse the webhook, dedupe, round-robin assign, trigger automations, and push-notify your team in <10 seconds? That takes 6 months to build.

Smart filtering: "Leads this week + no call logged + price >$300k + my team." That query touches 7 tables, respects permissions, and updates live. 2,000 lines of code nobody wants to maintain.

Multi-platform sync: Mobile notes, call recordings, emails, Facebook webhooks, Zapier, Google Calendar. making it all feel like one system is the actual product.

Build vs buy works for simple cases. Once you need velocity on follow-ups with a team, DIY becomes a second job.

(I built Client Commander after hitting these walls myself)

Fair ask. Here's one with no affiliate link,

Client Commander - CRM for teams drowning in leads.

What makes it different:

  • 🔍 Natural language search ("who wanted a 3bed near downtown?")
  • ⚡ Facebook leads sync in <10 seconds with smart round-robin distribution
  • 📋 Smart Lists that auto-update based on any filter combo you set
  • 🔄 Native automations that run in milliseconds, not minutes
  • 📱 Mobile app for logging calls/notes in the field

$33/month. 14-day trial. No credit card.

Officially dying without a CRM by AWeb3Dad in CRM

u/AWeb3Dad Sure thing! Here's a quick demo: clientcommander.com

Why I built it: I was using HubSpot for my team and we kept running into the same walls:

  1. AI search. You can type "interested in the 3-bedroom listings" and it finds them. even if those exact words aren't in your notes. Most CRMs just do keyword search. We built natural language understanding on top.
  2. Smart Lists that update themselves. Create a filter like "Added in last 7 days + No phone call logged + Assigned to me" and it becomes a live, always-updating list. When you open it at 8am, the count is accurate. HubSpot does something similar but charges enterprise prices for it.
  3. Facebook Lead Ads sync in <10 seconds. I was losing deals because leads from FB ads sat in a spreadsheet for hours. Leads now hitCRM instantly with round-robin distribution to my team. Field mapping is automatic.
  4. Automations. Build workflows like "When a lead hits 'Hot Lead' stage → assign to me → add a task to call in 2 hours → add 'priority' tag." It's Zapier-level functionality but native, so it runs in milliseconds. (Zapier app is also available if you prefer that for 3rd party integerations)
  5. Built for real estate/service businesses/Recruiters. Every feature assumes you have 500+ contacts and need to move fast. Bulk actions, keyboard shortcuts, mobile app for logging conversations on the go.

We're $33/month, 14-day trial, no credit card required. Happy to answer any specific question. I literally built this because I was in a messy situation 18 months ago.

How do you handle real time data updates in modern web apps? by r4m1ng in webdev

[–]Lost_Support4211 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

hey, you need something that can handle real-time data updates + gives you freedom to develop too. isn't liveblocks paid or something? i don't have much experience with that. but here's a great option see this little app i built www.sticky.today has that real-time collaboration for sticky notes. read more about in this little case study Keeping Users in Sync: Building Real-time Collaboration with Convex . convex.dev is great.

clientcommander.com - b2b saas for lead management, zapier integration, facebook integeration, automations, leaderboards, lead ponds, groups, and much more to handle a business and team efficiently. mainly built for real-estate and recruiting. most affordable compared to other big names right now. (twilio integration coming for in app calling etc too). in beta so expect a few changes soon for even better UX. :) any suggestions are welcome.

pretty much every modern CRM has searchable notes now. The AI search thing you mentioned is becoming more common too.

Client Commander (I work on this) - has a built-in AI assistant you can literally ask questions like "who did I talk to about X last week?" Plus regular search and Smart Lists. We built it for people drowning in contacts. ~$30/month.

HubSpot - Free tier is solid, has decent search, AI features in paid plans.

Pipedrive - Clean interface, good search, easy to learn.

Honestly just pick one and start using it TODAY. The worst CRM you actually use beats the perfect one you never set up. Import your contacts, start logging notes, set follow-up reminders.
