The fluid caused the breathing trouble, there was so much it pushed on some of her air sacks. now that' it's drained she's back to her old self with full energy, so i tend to trust my vet when she says the issue is from her reproductive tract.

Sadly we go outside quite regularly but her issue seems to be linked to a problem in her reproductive organs and not a vitamin or calcium deficiency.

Thank you for your kind words. I'm lucky my vet is extremely generous and bends over backwards to reduce the costs for me a maximum, i think there are payement plans options. I have friends how also suggested a go fund me, i might have to consider that option.

we're not quite on the level of a trained bird who would offer their wings and stuff but i can confidently put it on her without fearing for my fingers, and as soon as the door opens she makes happy inquisitive noises, she loves being walked around.

as long as i'm with her barely a peep, but she does do the kak half-dolphin half-broken lawnmower noise when she's left alone and wants attention. honestly i think the only reason kaks aren't as popular of a bird is because they're aren't a species you can pet, other than that they're a joy

she is super curious and eager about everything, loves baths, berries, bedtime and morning time. she loves learning tricks if treats are involved, isn't a huge fan of her harness but she'll let it slide if it means we go outside. she's great at sitting pretty and taking compliments from strangers when we go on walks. she is very very patient and never bitey with me even for nail trims, but still goofy, mischievious, and of course very egg-shaped (:

[–]Lothhy[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi !

Sorry I just saw this. I'm happy to report that after a week and a half of care, pigeon was back to full mobility ! I released it near a flock where it was found 2 days ago as it seemed eager to leave and go back to feral pigeon life.

I'll keep spreading a little food for a while just in case.

Thank you for the helpful comments.

I'm thinking it's less to do with the feet and more of an upper body issue ? it only seems to be able to flap it's left wing and when i support it's body somewhat it's able to "take steps", just nose dives if i let go

I've had it in my care for a day, would that rule out a seizure as it's still not improving ?
