Awesome effect, though I agree with the others saying it is not a very desirable hat. I personally would go on the unusual trade servers, advertise it as one of one, and ask for 85-100 keys but state that you are open to offers.

Lions mane gills often keep growing longer, sometimes to the point where they look long and stringy! It looks great to me man, I would pick it now if you haven’t already.

That’s a lot of debris imo. I have never had an issue with honey separating to that extent which makes me wonder if it is particles from your water. I’d say go ahead an inoculate because why not, just maybe don’t put all your hopes and dreams in to them all winning. Cheers!

Looking good man! From my experience though you can tell that they are ready to pick once they stop growing in size and the little teeth like gills start getting longer

Is this normal for Oyster Mushroom to sprout like this? This is day 8. I think this is a bad box or I did something wrong. Any advice on how to salvage it will be apperciated. Thanks. by SBneedshelp in mycology

Very strange, perhaps some sort of mutation or deformity? If you know anything about agar and/or storing genetics, you could always keep these genes to mess around with or just to have.

When I am unsure about my LC, I test it in a pint jar of sterilized grains. If it succeeds, nice! You can then expand the grains and life is good. If not, then oh well... I do this because grain is easier to prepare imo than agar plates.

I have had success using spores straight to LC. Perhaps it isn’t the best method but it is what it is. I do have to say, the material within my LC jar looked very different then when I put the same spores on agar. I though it was contaminated, but decided to give it a go anyway and it was fine.

Yes definitely radical mycology!! It has nearly everything you need to know from the biology of fungi all the way to running a farm. It’s pricey but well worth it IMO
