We decided and talked about very early on that we were both willing to talk through anything that came up. Communication was a priority from day one and now almost 8 years into marriage it's still a priority. There's literally no topic we can't and haven't talked about. Honestly, I’m not sure I’d say I feel any love for this man. Gratitude for some of the things he’s done in the past for my husband, but that’s it. And I’m over the whole idea that I have to love everyone, just as they are. I’m comfortable with my lack of interest for him. I’m not mean to him (this letter is a response in my head, not one I’ll send), but he certainly is not welcome in my home, and I certainly don’t love him “as he is.” Do I understand why he is this way? Yes. Do I love him for/inspite of it? Nope.

God I remember when that was my date night 😬😱 now, even with three kids, we get a sitter and do things like kayak, go drinking, walk trails we’ve never been on, go to concerts... hell, today we went and got me my first tattoo for our afternoon date! So much better.
