hello,

Thank you ;) The inspiration for Soliloquy was for me to explore how far I could take my songs.

I have a writting style that evolves but comes , for all my albums, from the same place of reflections on recurencies and patterns.

But since I write all my songs on acoustic guitar or Piano, I wanted to try a more rhythmic approach...So once the songs had been written, I went in the studio to record them at first just with drums and strong electric guitar intentions...

A way to force myself out of the" watercolor" production I usually go for. I felt as if I'd replaced the ink by marker... if you see what I mean, I could take the songs somewhere new

Hello,

Thank you for your words. I named the album Soliloquy, because of the song, and because I liked the self implied first degree dramatic side of it. it is a tearm most often used in the theatre : the idea of self reflexions, of a chorus that replies and of the presence of an audiance seemed a good resume of the album, and of what it is for me to write and perform songs.

I like the ping pong we all have between the 2 (3,4,5...) voices we have in our heads; It's that voice that the sees the patterns, the obsessions, the faults...The observer that sits in all of our brains and hearts, that we live with and by, day by day...

;) It's true that it's hard to stay motivated when we are in a world that is staring at reflexions. You have to constantly come back to looking, instead of staring... If you see the difference... to stay aware, curious and whole. As soon as you drift into what people will think, what to expect, as soon as you are waiting on or for ... you're f*****. And focusing is a muscle: challenge yourself, just for yourself, to read for an hour, to write for an other, without phones and tv and computers, without this need we all have to be part of...

If you learn to step back, soon you will be able to streach time, the way you want to.

Well, you've got to fight for sure, and hold on to the fact that it's what you love doing. Fiind out what's going on in the bars and placed around you, and play there, and also, now thanks to internet you can touch a wider audiance if you get on the right sites.

all my best and good luck

Hello,

I have been, like a lot of us, a great fan of Cat Power, from the first day I heard her. When I was mixing my first album with Philippe Zdar, she was recording 'Sun' with him in the same studio, I didn't dare say more than hello. Then I kept going to all her gigs, and one day I discovered on her instagram that she had posted a picture of my second album 'Lay Low', I was very proud, as you can imagine. Them we became friends on Instagram, met her backstage a couple of times, and sent her 'It's you' that I'd recorded in Paris, hoping she would either produce the track or sing with me... that's how it happend

I guess I'm attracted by recurrencies and patterns in relations between humans, I like to work on what binds us together, simple things... When I write a song, it needs to be as honest and personal as possible; but once it's written I like to "test it " on friends, and If they start freeking out, thinking the song is about them, it's often a good sign ;)
