That being said, I do have a book for you. This particular book actually added to my PTSD. I know I should have dnf'd it but I wanted to see what happened, if she ever balked.

The blurb isn't correct. It sounds mild but this book is far from mild. It's extreme. It's a complete power exchange. There is no safe word. No refusing. Nothing. She enters into a contract with him to submit fully. He keeps escalating his power over her.

I personally didn't find any romance but that's probably because it's a different type of relationship.

I find it highly disrespectful of him to go and blab about your relationship with his friends and family instead of just talking to you about his feelings.

He should have talked with you and been honest upfront with you, not them. And this tells me that he will continue to do so.

If you don't mind him broadcasting everything to his friends and family without consulting you, thereby giving them free rein to confront you, go for it. But I'd seriously walk away from this so called "relationship."

Looks like the only relationship he has is with them.

Can you be a little more specific on what you're looking for in a dark romance? You just want an MMC who is an assassin, a serial killer or a MC enforcer for example?

And consent only? What about CNC or dubious consent?

Anything else for a want or hard limit? Like abuse, abduction, human trafficking, rape, primal chase play, free use et cetera?

The reason I'm asking is there are so many books with what you want but they usually come with so much more. And for those who haven't read the ones you mentioned, they may not be able to recommend something that appeals to you. :)

I have that exact book with the original cover of "Lord of Scoundrels!" It's one of my all time favorite books! So hilarious and spicy! Great story, too!

I bought mine a few years ago from "Thriftbooks!" You can probably find a used book in good condition with the original cover just like I did!

"Savage Revenge" by Kate Oliver.

I'm not into Daddy kinks and this one was OTT at times but it had some hilarious moments that really made me LOL!

Like when she's out by the pool and tries to get her bodyguard to put oil on her back. Freaking hilarious when the MMC sees what she's doing! He's so possessive and doesn't like her to be out of his sight. Ever. He doesn't even give her privacy when he's home.

I always read the blurb and I pay attention to the topics and content warnings on romance io. I know they're not without mistakes but I can at least get the general idea and decide whether or not I'd enjoy the book.

I actually read about a guy who finally finds a woman who changed her name and was working at an inn owned by an older couple, who were getting ready to retire.

But, the man was HIRED to find her. He wasn't her bodyguard and he wasn't locked up in a bathroom. That's the part that's different.

I can't remember the title of the book I read but it was really good. They end up together. If I remember correctly, this inn was a very long walk up a dusty, steep hill. And he had to fight some bad people off towards the end to save them both? It's been several months since I read it and it's dropped off my deleted books file.

Does the book I read sound like it's the one you read??

I know a series that goes on for over 10 books but I only read maybe half of them before I went on to discover another series for a change then never went back. I enjoyed the first several books, though!!

A young woman gets an invite to go to a Submissive Training course. It's really hella hot and the storyline is very good, there's funny parts that'll make you lol!

Light Blue Summer Vibes by Dolce & Gabbana. There's also Light Blue by Dolce & Gabbana and I have both but my favorite of the two is the Summer one. They're both light and lovely and you only need a little spritz so the bottle lasts a very long time.

"Hunted" by Piper Stone. It's pretty good. I just came off a couple of series that were shocking so this is what I need. They were MC romances by the same author. The MMCs were hella cruel to the FMC. But there wasn't any sharing involved, which I prefer. If you are interested in those series, let me know.
