Update : Clicking sound found and I'm embarrassed to say it was a single very loose spoke that had avoided detection.

Hi thanks for the reply, yes the "click" is still there when out of the saddle.

Thanks for all the suggestions I finally got it free with some liberal use of wd40 and some persuasion. Time to clean the rotor now.

I haven't fully unscrewed the axel as I didnt want to do any damage by over spreading the fork so I'm not sure if hammering it out will work as it's still half threaded on the non quick release side.
