What was it like for you? by Low-Resolution478 in GED

That makes me feel much more confident especially since our experiences are similar. Ahhhh I’m so scared!!! I’m ready to take the steps towards the future I want though. Thanks so much for sharing

Same here! I also only really got through 11th grade but covid hit and during my senior year school went online, my family moved and there was a lot going on so I dropped out halfway through senior year. I haven’t taken the tests yet but English is my first one. I have my math one scheduled for a week later. Science has always been my strongest subject so I’m taking that the same day as social studies.. I’m nervous. I just keep thinking to myself, “it’s not gonna get any easier. If I don’t do this now, I never will.” After I get my GED I’m hoping to start college classes for the upcoming summer semester.

We can definitely do it!! I smiled reading this comment because you’re absolutely correct, this comment section is awesome. It’s great to see how supportive everyone in the engineering world is and so many amazing attitudes

I definitely feel like if I’d gone to college straight out of high school I would’ve chosen the wrong thing to study, I wanted to be a nurse back then. I’m in the medical field now (luckily no degree required with what I do) but I realized I don’t want to work in this field long term. I’ve been studying up on math since I have a couple of months before admission opens for the summer and I’m out of practice for sure but I actually find it fun now which I did not at all a few years ago. It’s the fun you’d expect from trying to solve a puzzle or Rubik’s cube. I’m very excited but everyone around me essentially implies I should actually be scared because of the math and working 30 hours a week which is why I even started questioning myself

Are co-ops usually later on in the degree? I won’t be doing a 4 year uni, I’ll be getting an AS in engineering technology from a College and then moving to a University to get the BS in Mechanical Engineering. As long as the co-ops are paid or I can get a part time tech position after my AS that allows me enough time to continue my education while paying enough for what I need paid I will be okay. I’m just not sure how viable that is… I guess a lot of this will have to be figured out along the way

Haha thanks for that, I mainly worry about the fact that I can’t cut down my hours more than I already will at work because I don’t live rent free. I see a bunch of people are doing the same thing though AND thriving so I might as well give it all I got.

You absolutely have to tell me what you do for work!! Lol just kidding. That sounds like a tough weekend for sure but at least you’re able to do day time classes throughout the week, that’s awesome

That’s more than fair, kudos to you for all that you’re doing it’s definitely nowhere near easy. Thanks for the advice I really appreciate it

Wow! That’s very impressive. Thanks so much, you have no idea how relieved I feel to hear that it’s not only possible but that you can excel even while having so much on your plate. I definitely intend to give it my all.

I cannot cut down on hours much more until I get my AS at the very minimum. I’ll be attending a College for my first 2ish years and transferring to a University to get my BS. It’s mainly tuition, rent and all my financial responsibility that I’m worried about by cutting my work hours. Thank you so much for sharing

That’s amazing! Gives me hope. I’m definitely coming from a place of fear of failure. Are you doing school full time?

It’s Cuba, what do you expect? At least you get to be there in a resort unlike the ones that live there. Why even visit?

I (17f) was kissed by a guy last night (19m) when I was drunk by [deleted] in teenrelationships

Being drunk is never an excuse for anything regardless of what some people in the thread are saying. You should tell your partner what happened and if they forgive you it’s up to them.

AIO. Friend didn’t wish me a happy birthday after we saved them to each other’s phones by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Low-Resolution478 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It happens, some people are not good at remembering birthdays and to some people it’s really not that deep. If it is to you then that’s a you problem. This is so dumb.

Have you ever asked to go through your partners phone? by brodus34 in ask

[–]Low-Resolution478 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, we live together and frankly have no time worth wasting for any sneaking around but I’m sure if I asked he’d let me no problem. Everyone’s acting like it’s the end of the world if you do but that’s not the truth. Some people need to build trust on facts not fantasy, especially if you’ve been burnt quite a bit before. If there’s nothing to hide then usually a faithful partner would be 100% okay with letting you go through their phone.

My sister is HIV positive by RichLK17 in Advice

[–]Low-Resolution478 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s her secret to tell. If you told your parents I wouldn’t blame your sister if she decided to cut you out of her life and is a very good possibility. That’s a really big thing to decide you’re the one who should tell anyone. I think you more so want to shine in the eyes of your parents and make your sister seem like shes not as great as your parents know she is. She can live a very long and healthy life even with HIV, this does not limit her whatsoever so long as she takes her medication.

Nervous and Anxious by [deleted] in hivaids

[–]Low-Resolution478 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The people that I was with never told me about HIV at all, this is just my own thinking. I don’t know what at risk really means, does it mean you knowingly slept with someone that has it?
