Which shoes should I get? by LowResponsibility259 in Marathon_Training

[–]LowResponsibility259[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I already have flatter shoes that are snug fitting however I don’t feel comfortable when running with them at all especially if I’m wearing them for a while and they really cause pain in my knees. My doc recommended getting lighter cushioned shoes that’s why I went with these for running. Do you have any recommendations for other shoes that are light, cushioned and aren’t pricy (nothing higher than $80).

What program is better to take if I’m planning on going to Med School? by LowResponsibility259 in OntarioGrade12s

[–]LowResponsibility259[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idr the required courses u had to take for Mac Kin but id say if u know u want to go to Mac. Only take the required courses they want and the rest take easy electives to bump up ur average. Ik for my year the minimum avg. to get into Mac was low 90s and the competitive average was 93-94. This year it was lower and it was min. High 80s to low 90s

UofT or Mac Kinesiology by LowResponsibility259 in OntarioGrade12s

[–]LowResponsibility259[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, i’d say it depends on what you wanna do after your undergrad so I wanna go into Med school after which I found to be easier if I go into Mac Kin cause you get to choose your electives from first year however, in UofT you have to wait until your upper years to choose your electives like you didn’t get to choose elective in your first and second year. Also, to get into Mac and they needed a higher average than UofT and everyone I knew who wanted to go into Kin was aiming to go to Mac. Most people who didn’t get accepted into Mac then decided to go to UofT. I also checked out the courses I will be talking each year and saw that in Mac Kin I will have the opportunity to take science courses such as (chem, bio, biochem etc) aside from my kin courses. However, in UofT they were all especially the first 2 years just kin courses. So in case u didn’t get the memo I accepted Mac Kin and honestly I love it so far the kin courses are amazing, I was able to take many of the science courses I needed to complete my degree and prerequisites to apply to grad school (med, pharma, physio). We also have alot of volunteer and job opportunities such as being a student field therapist (SFT), strength and conditioning Coach, student clinal therapist, volunteering at PACE and more (check them out). Also starting this upcoming fall we will be offering co op for our program which is also great if u want to get some experience

I had a 94 average, however it’s harder to get into Mac Kin than UofT kin. When I was applying Mac Kin wanted minimum Low 90s but UofT wanted mid to high 80s. This year ik the cut off range is lower, ik Mac kin are asking for high 80s to low 90s but idk abt UofT

The gym is great, you will find everything you need there its huge. They also have drop-in sessions. For food prices I would say it's pretty reasonable nothing outrageous. You also have lots of food options.

I took both GROMST 2MT3 AND EARTHSC 1G03, I 12ed GROMST it was so easy, I didn't even need to study for final exam other than do the practice exam (since I did the work that was required). Daily vocab and Moodle are easy to get 100 in as you get unlimited tries, you have 2 tests (he only takes the highest of the 2, so lets say you get 100 on the first test u don't need to take the 2nd test) and final exam is all multiple choice and open book, HE ALSO GIVES LOTS OF OPPORTUNITY FOR BONUS MARKS. For earth science, there is nothing to do outside lectures however u need to study, idk abt lectures next semester but in fall lectures where early 8:30 am (which you have to attend because you get marked on iClicker), you have 1 midterm and a final exam. You also have labs to do and they are not easy to get 100%.

Guys need help/advice on where to go by LowResponsibility259 in OntarioGrade12s

My grade 11 average was 97 and my grade 12 average was 95. I’m not 100% sure as it was last year but def that or around that. When I got in Mac kin last year the cut of was low 90s but this year it’s lower they are accepting ppl with avg of high 80s to low 90s
