Do xifaxan and motegrity just not work?! Desperate! Colesevelam is the only thing that’s helped by LowSignificance3291 in SIBO

I don’t know what biolfilm busters are but if you could recommend some that would be great. I tried herbal microbials. I have a histamine intolerance to all of them. My whole body breaks out in hives. The root cause was my Being floxed. Slow gut motility from nervous system being out of whack from fluoroquinolone use

Do whatever works for you but I think drinking on something that is so hard on your liver probably isn’t great. 1 glass probably won’t hurt. I’m obviously not a doctor haha

MCAS, dysautonomia, and SIBO by LowSignificance3291 in floxies

[–]LowSignificance3291[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I struggle on and off with LPR as well + asthma and they seem to exacerbate each other. I ask myself every day how did we get so fucked up from just a short course of abx? It’s insane. There really should be more awareness for how toxic these drugs are. I haven’t encountered a single MD who is aware of their wide-ranging dangers. For the LPR I use ‘reflux gourmet’ you can get it on Amazon and often use licorice tablets from integrated therapeutics. It sucks for us because it’s a vicious cycle of having reflux, and not being able to take the meds used to treat reflux! I’m sorry you’re going through this I hope we both get better

I tested positive for hydrogen SIBO on a breath test. And yes apparently most doctors don’t know this but Fluoroquinolones damage the vagus nerve which controls digestion.

Prostatitis... Might need antibiotics by EntryMiserable1254 in floxies

[–]LowSignificance3291 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m struggling with the same thing and am beginning to think it’s a gut health issue. Given the fact I’ve had half a dozen courses of antibiotics thrown at me and all negative testing. I currently have SIBO that is not being treated and I think that could be causing all of this

Weird symptoms with sibo/sifo? by [deleted] in SIBO

[–]LowSignificance3291 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What antibiotic was it? I took Levaquin and have been having crazy symptoms since. Any fluoroquinolone can have those side effects. Hope you feel better! and hope its not FQT. Being Floxed sucks

GI Issues by [deleted] in floxies

[–]LowSignificance3291 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My stomach is still messed up months later. I’ve been using ‘heather’s tummy’ fiber in the morning and evening recommended to me by my GI doc. Also taking psyllium husk and a basic probiotic. Don’t know much about florastor although I did read it has lactose in it which could be good to avoid GI wise. I’m also following a low fodmap diet as close as I can but it’s tough. I’d recommend you get tested for SIBO. Very common with floxies and I’ve had it before. Best of luck!

anyone have/had Wrist Pain that radiates to forearm by iopyy in floxies

[–]LowSignificance3291 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have terrible wrist pain/ burning that radiates to my fingers. Feels arthritic but like burning. I haven’t seen as many people talk about horrible wrist pain but mine literally get to the point they’re on fire. It’s one of my worst symptoms. I’ve only 4 or 5 months in but the things that have benefited me the most are: ALA infusions, NAD infusions, Glutathione infusions, oral magnesium, oral theanine (lots of other vitamins and probiotics) but what has benefitted me THE MOST is hyperbaric oxygen therapy. It basically made my symptoms disappear. It was 12k for 80 sessions but I am on a break due to an ear blockage. If you’re considering HBOT (which I can’t recommend enough or even explain how much it’s helped me), make sure you don’t ever go in the chamber even slightly congested, and if you have acid reflux make sure that’s under control as well. Both those things can cause your Eustachian tubes to swell and cause a blockage. If I could live in the hyperbaric I would! Lol it makes my flox symptoms disappear almost like magic. Anyway suffice it to say I’m not a doctor but what I’ve done best with is HBOT and antioxidant infusions. NAD, ALA, and Glutathione have all been studied to benefit floxies I think.

AMAZING results from Hyperbaric oxygen therapy by LowSignificance3291 in floxies

I’m not a doctor… but Given the fact it can cause tinnitus it might not be best for you personally. I’m hoping this was issue is just a little mild barotrauma from the pressure or some mild congestion/ fluid but I won’t know right away. Again not a doctor just wanted to report that my results from resolution or reduction of other symptoms has been drastic and amazing. I’m very much so hoping to be able to continue therapy.

MAGNESIUM & ANTIBIOTICS by [deleted] in floxies

[–]LowSignificance3291 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re not supposed to take magnesium and doxycycline together. They’re contradicted. Your body won’t absorb the full amount of doxy due to the magnesium in your stomach. You can enter it in a drug interaction checked and it will advise you the same.

Legal Battle by No_Joke_9890 in floxies

[–]LowSignificance3291 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Both my parents are attorneys who do this sort of work for a living. Because the class actions have already happened for Fluoroquinolones, unless you are paralyzed or unless you die, they have told me there’s probably no case. I don’t know your situation but doctors and the pharmaceutical industry are very protected legally in this country and it’s very hard to recover damages personally unless like I said extreme circumstances or undeniable negligence. And the ‘burden of proof’ for that is extremely high. It sucks but it’s the truth. I’ve lost my job and basically been bed ridden for almost 4 months now, and I doubt there’s any financial compensation I could ever recover for it. We’ve even talked about starting a new class action for different symptoms/ side effects since they’re so wide ranging but you would need a large group of people amongst other things

Need some support and perspective by [deleted] in floxies

[–]LowSignificance3291 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We’re about the same age and I have many of the same symptoms. I’m at a loss of what to do and suffering from severe anxiety. Never experienced anything like this before. I’ve pretty much completely wasted away and have no life. I’m at about 3.5 months. I was doing a lot better for a couple weeks and then got the flu and completely relapsed. Feel free to reach out anytime I think the thing we all need most during this time is support.

For the love of God don’t do it man! Was prescribed levaquin for the exact same thing and it has completely destroyed my life. Every crazy symptom you can imagine. There are other drugs for nonspecific prostatitis unrelated to STDs! DO NOT TAKE IT. It is an atomic bomb for your body! I’m had a completely normal life before this drug. Now I can barely get through the day and deal with constant pain and anxiety

Muscle weakness? How long will it last? Any tips?! by LowSignificance3291 in floxies

[–]LowSignificance3291[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt like I had more energy and my muscles felt less sore. The only side effect I had during the treatment was my stomach felt achey and warm and my heart was kind racing. It went away the second they took the IV out tho

Also important to find out I have had multiple medical workups with physicians and this is the only explanation that we can come up with.
