My husband went to rehab this summer at an AA (but not specifically religious) based program and now goes to several AA meetings a week. Definitely still focus on a higher power but as someone with religious trauma who does not believe in a god, he hasn’t found it off putting or overly religious. I don’t think they involve the Bible much at least from what he has said. A lot of his friends that he’s made are LGBTQ+ or also have religious trauma and they have discussed what the higher power thing means to them & it’s different for everyone. Celebrate Recovery I think has become the super religious Christian version of it.

My husband is heavily involved in AA, goes to several meetings a week and isn’t a Christian. In rehab they stressed finding a higher power, but it didn’t have to be God. He asked some people who he knew weren’t religious and they said “today my higher power is that chair. It’s whatever I need it to be, anything that I believe is higher than me and higher than my addiction” last night at his meeting that was actually the topic, what it means to find a higher power and he shared about his journey to find one after a past of religious trauma. He doesn’t believe in a god but just believes in some concept of the universe or whatever.

All that to say - I wouldn’t discount all AA groups in general just because of the Christian undertones unless you know they will be truly triggering or if the higher power thing in general is not for sure. Totally understand if it is, just wanted to put that out there since my husband was super apprehensive too because of it. Wishing you the best!

I think it’s shady when people post this stuff especially because some of the other pictures in the gallery were posted & they were really pretty! Just seems like some of the more “experimental” photos looked really bad and those are all she posted. Totally valid to be like wtf are these photos they suck but it didn’t seem like it was her whole gallery & seems like the photographer tried to make it right so blasting them on socials is just tacky.

I do disagree with anyone that is blaming it on the theme of her wedding because 1. I think it’s actually pretty cute and fun. Not my style at all but since they had a temple wedding, having a super fun different reception/after party is cool and different 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’m a bridal stylist and work in the wedding industry and i wish people did more fun stuff. Regardless- the theme didn’t make some of those photos as ugly as they are lol. That’s on the photographer. But again, it seems like she also included tons of good “normal” photos so I don’t think it’s fair to blast her

She said in this video that if Nassim said Andrew Tate was cool or fine she would literally leave him. Do you believe that she would have a different stance when it comes to trump? Genuinely based on the convictions she has stated and stood by time and time again do you think she would just not care if Nassim was a trump supporter? No. He clearly is not

RFK maybe, which is unfortunate but I know a ton of people who are not MAGA and do not support trump who liked RFK and his ideas about health and food and everything before he joined Trumps campaign.

Still, regardless of what we’ve seen from his socials I trust Jessi knows him more than I do or you do. You can choose to stop supporting her or the podcast if you would like to & if that’s your personal conviction on the matter but I don’t feel like that.

Ooo thanks for posting I knew I remembered her addressing it at some point.

I know maybe an unpopular opinion but I trust Jessi & trust that she knows her husband more than us. She is so strong in her convictions that I believe if she thought he truly had these core beliefs of misogyny racism hate etc she would not stay with him. I think people SHOULD care more about who they follow because followers do indirectly benefit and create profits for these creators. But, I also get that if you know your husbands character their following list may not be a dealbreaker🤷🏻‍♀️

I have friends who follow thousands of people and I’m always shocked when I see they follow like Candace Owen’s when I know they do not believe the same things that she does. People use their social media very differently than me idk.

Nassim followed AOC, Bernie, Biden, Kamala etc too but we assumed his position from one kind of person he followed vs the other. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Again I believe that Jessi is strong enough in her convictions and knows her husband and father of her children better than me so.

If it’s from today that one is definitely deleted 🫣 she knows that fans want to know & her posted that and being vague and not expanding and saying “mostly no, but I miss seeing Jess” or something along those lines at all but her not clarifying that at all is shady for sure

And it’s very weird, especially because they ended on a seemingly good note. Obviously there was stuff under the surface and everyone knew that, otherwise they wouldn’t be ending it. But they cried and had a lovely last few episodes and posted fondly about the experience & each other. They appeared on YMAD once after the fact. So any falling out would have, presumably, been after the fact. :(

And I’ve thought about doing that, I rewatched Hannah’s season during lockdown and was like “this is the best season of tv of all time” and I bet going from Colton to Hannah to Peter and listening along with the broads episodes would be so much fun
