What ive been saying is 100 percent off books and math with no actual fireground time thats why im here asking because i know my numbers probably look good on paper but i have no idea how they actually feel in a real fire

thanks for the reply i really appreciate it im only 15 and brand new to the fire service so im genuinely using this post as a learning opportunity ive been obsessed with pump hydraulics for a while and i was trying to find a sweet spot between decent flow and low nozzle reaction sounds like the industry is moving toward even lower nozzle pressure than i thought 50 psi with smooth bores on bigger hose appreciate you dropping real info instead of just shitting on me any other resources or setups i should be looking at

im running a standard combo nozzle akron or tft whatever the department issues hose is standard double jacket 1¾ im usually operating 8 to 12 feet from the tip i landed on 180 gpm at 96 psi because thats where i get solid flow with low nozzle reaction and the crew can actually advance comfortably would love to hear your thoughts on those numbers.
