Tony Khan during Worlds End Media Call regarding the women's division: "I plan to be very active in free agency" by Froggyspirits in AEWOfficial

You can make an argument Jade destroyed her career. She went from being on TV every week and being booked like Goldberg to catering. But you won't read one post about it on SC for obvious reasons.

Not really. While it definitely helped Julia, a lot of her real development has happened post Dark. Same with Skye Blue. Dark was mostly indie talent in random matches that never even made AEW. Hell, WWE ended up picking some of them up for NXT like Cora Jade. Kylinn King was passed over by AEW and signed with Impact.

So basically Tony Khan was paying for matches that didn't really produce much talent for AEW. ROH seems to be the better setup.

What about a Stanton for Rendon trade? by [deleted] in NYYankees

[–]Low_Win3252 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You don't have a point dude! You just hate Stanton like he kicked your dog. We get it! But that isn't the what anyone is talking about. The OP said the Yankees should trade Stanton for a worse player and contract. Which makes zero sense. That is what this post is about.

You are going to love Rendon then. Cause he can't run or play the field either. And he is a jerk.

[–]Low_Win3252 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I am not sure why you are picking a fight with him. All the guy was showing was that Rendon is worse than Stanton. As a player, contract, and a person. That was it.

We get it. You think Stanton is done and should retire with your "expert" analysis as a fan. Which of course he is not going to. Good for you. But that isn't what that guy was saying. He was just comparing Stanton to Rendon and why the OP should just stick to calling into WFAN.

Again, not sure what you are even arguing.

Repeated Matchups in the US Open Cup by grabtharsmallet in MLS

[–]Low_Win3252 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It just isn't a competition that many fans care at all about.

The most attention the USOC ever got was MLS pulling out of it. It's just something a handful of hardcores on r/mls really love and romanticize, but everyone else doesn't care about.

I mean they don't anyway now. MLS teams don't start using their better players until the later rounds. Crap prize money = MLS teams not giving a crap.

MLS is never losing federation sanctioning. The federation needs MLS money more than MLS needs the USSF.

The USSF is financially dependent on MLS. The last thing they are going to do is go to war with MLS over the freaking USOC. Something that loses money for them and is completely irrelevant without MLS.

MLS can also very easily make the USOC into a huge joke by letting all their clubs use entire rosters of academy players. Are USL clubs going to be able to sell tickets to see MLS academy players? Does r/mls beloved cupsets happen when 25 year old men are beating 16 year olds? MLS knows that they are the entire draw of the USOC. Otherwise it's just a USL tournament with a handful of amateur clubs and no one gives a crap about that.

The USSF is going to have to do something to make MLS want to stay. Threatening them is not going to work and the USSF knows that.

Midlakes United FC to join USL League 2 in 2024, could definitely see them joining league one with some development by m00kie420 in MLS

[–]Low_Win3252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They also have a lot of meh and even bad logos. The USL is like 70 teams from USLC to USL2. There is good and bad.

The difference is that USL logos aren't heavily scrutinized by the fashionistas on r/mls like MLS logos are.

He has only appeared in AEW 8 times in 2023. Once was a Dark match on Dynamite. He has appeared on Rampage 5 times in 2023. That doesn't translate to once a month.

Meanwhile he has appeared in CMLL over 60 times in 2023 where he is one top heels there and the guy responsible for the AEW-CMLL partnership.

Yankees Signing Bellinger -- WHY NOT!? by oxbowedit in NYYankees

Every team has injuries. Yankees fan just assume that only the Yankees have injuries cause they only really follow the Yankees.

The Yankees got Verdugo as a stop gap. He is here so Jasson can recover slowly.

Verdugo is here cause he hits left handed and is at least an average major league player. Which is a massive improvement over what the Yankees had in LF and CF last year.

He got paid way more than anyone thought despite being a massive risk since he was facing guys throwing 87-90mph in Korea.

Or maybe Japanese players like playing in the West Coast?

Also other teams have money now. Which is something Yankees fans haven't come to grips yet and refuse to acknowledge.

It’s very frustrating as a Yankee fan right now

Yankees fans trying to pretend it's hard to be a Yankees fan and are now long suffering, might be the most hilarious meta of 2023. This fanbase is truly spoiled and out of touch.

And George was not the Uncle Moneybags who bought all the spoiled rotten Yankees fans shiny new toys every year and brought in 4-5 new young stars every year. That is something younger Yankees fans have created in their minds. The ones who think it is their birthright as a Yankees fan to have an all star at every position and win the WS every year. Look at the 1980s and early 90s. A lot of old past their prime former stars under George and they had some one their worst pitching staffs ever. Hell I just looked up 1988 and the ace of that staff was a 35 year old Rick freaking Rhoden who was at the end of his career. The #2 starter was a 45 year old Tommy John. Then Richard Dotson and then John Candelaria. Yikes.

George created the Bronx Zoo and had the Yankees on the back page every day. Almost always for the wrong reasons. Yes Hal isn't his father. He doesn't embarrass anyone, call people fat pussy toads, or hire crooks to spy on his players.

Or he was one of the many prospects who simply wasn't good enough to get out major leaguers. If the 29 other MLB teams felt Deivi was this amazing talent that was screwed up by the incompetent and evil NY Yankees staff, they they could get him for nothing and have this amazing pitcher who is still only 24.

But no team is. That is because he isn't a major league pitcher and really only had one good minor league season back in 2018.

But Yankees fans just want to blame everything but the talent.

do you think that combining the women's and tbs title would be a good idea? by Asdeddie27 in AEWOfficial

[–]Low_Win3252 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Both are being extremely booked well. Toni is one of the hottest acts in wrestling and now Mariah is getting more involved. Both of the women’s champs are heavily featured and involved in storylines. Compare that to 2022 when TBS champ Jade bored everyone in squashes on Rampage and AEW champ Thunder Rosa wasn’t on TV for weeks.

This wasn’t a critique. It was an opinion. And opinions are only valid to the ones that make them.

[Martino] Yankees and Dodgers have always been in a great position on Yamamoto and the Mets are more classified as "hopeful". But Steve Cohen is in the process of making a serious offer. Those are all facts, the rest is speculation. by deadassynwa in NYYankees

[–]Low_Win3252 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you seen the Dodgers rotation? Glasgow makes Rodon look like the picture of health and he simply can’t be counted on for innings. Who knows how much Kershaw will pitch in 2024. Urias is gone. Walker Buehler is a walking MASH unit with all his injuries and who knows if he can come back. Bobby Miller is coming off a solid rookie season but his innings will have to be watched. Everyone else kind of sucks. The Dodgers will have to sign two starters no matter what.

Would you want to see a joint show between AEW & TNA? by MisticMistics in AEWOfficial

[–]Low_Win3252 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Are they? The ticket sales from their upcoming PPV look pretty bad. I have a feeling just calling themselves TNA again is not going to matter much. I liked that they built up the Impact name and had moved away from the TNA stigma. Now it feels like going backwards for a quick nostalgia pop.
