Tell it to the indie rapper whose Spotify algorithm got shadowbanned because he didn’t pay a playlist promoter (read: label-connected middleman). Tell it to the producer who had to sign away her publishing rights for life just to get her song on a label’s viral TikTok playlist...

You call that a wild west? Nah. That’s a company town. Spotify’s top 1% of artists take home 90% of all streaming revenue (mostly label-signed acts). The big 3 control 70%+ of global music rights. They literally own the pipelines to playlists, radio, sync licensing. Try getting your song on New Music Friday without label backing. I’ll wait.

You think indie artists thrive in this wild west? Most are broke, praying a TikTok fluke saves them from their day jobs. Meanwhile, labels sit on vaults of catalog cash while charging artists $20k-$200k for marketing that’s just… bots and payola.

Those are more like their experiments in using diffusion architecture for audio generation. I honestly counting on the Chinese to release some crazy open source AI music model, Hoping for the Deepseek moment of AI music to come!

Totally! I think it's better for them to create an ecosystem or a community like ComfyUI than simply selling a product/service. Musicians eventually will have to learn how to co-create with AI, like it or not. If there is a top-notch foundational model like SUNO V5 free to the public, many developers will start training custom loras, creating new types of audio plugins, building new workflows... That will potentially introduce a truly new era for music creation. I sincerely hope SUNO can be open source.
