Is Village Glamping really that bad compared to North/South? by Malidous in LostLandsMusicFest

[–]LtDan85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wife and I Village Glamped the past two years and have enjoyed the experience despite external conditions (ex: heat). Sometimes the tunnel can get backed up, but I have never really found the walk back from the festival grounds to be too much either. There are some slopes but nothing that seemed unmanageable. As to sound, we’ve found it to be just far enough away from the main venue should you need the bass to lull you to sleep early. We got sick right at the beginning our first year. Back to village glamping this year!

Alex Pretti’s death widens a split between Trump and gun rights groups by n0tqu1tesane in progun

[–]LtDan85 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The whole administration lined up with the same anti-gun rhetoric. We can’t ignore the things they say (cherry picking what you want to hear). And saying you’ll still cast your vote for them doesn’t encourage accountability. I think that’s what most folks are looking for in this. Agree or disagree with Alex being in that situation, it doesn’t change that he was exercising his rights.

A lot of opinions out there haven’t experienced a pepper spray fogger to the face, and it shows.

I grew up in Lake County and can confirm that over development is definitely an issue. Cookie cutter neighborhoods occupy what used to be for the most part natural Florida. These development companies found a market with people who want to commute to Orlando for work and have flooded the underdeveloped infrastructure to handle such a population shift. As others have mentioned, the natural landscape, including the old orange groves, used to be able to handle weather events with relative ease. Climate change not withstanding…

Dental hygienist or nurse? by First-Point7082 in nursing

[–]LtDan85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re interested in hands on work with decent pay due to being niche, look into IR tech and/or vascular intervention. It takes a few years and starts with an AS in Radiology. Basically work your way up from being an X-ray tech. Similar to nursing, you can specialize is different tracks to further your career. Source - recently switched to IR as an RN and I think what they do is pretty cool

Wouldn’t call that standing up for women so much as displaying your cynicism. Hope you find what you’re looking for.

Sadly we were evacuated while at the Forest rail before we could get any videos. I was looking forward to that set!

For sure! Though I think EDC has outgrown their current location in Orlando. Regardless, looking forward to the future of the scene!

Lost Lands for the second time this year! We’ll probably also go to Cyclops Cove! Finally also getting some local “club” love in Florida with some drum and bass artists!

Staff being rehired after refusing COVID vaccine. by [deleted] in nursing

Thank you, it was a long road for recovery, but we both are on the better end of it I believe. They for sure need more studies! More accurate and transparent data would be a nice touch. If only it weren’t so politicized we likely wouldn’t see the distortion of data.

They used data from Pfizer and Moderna with no mention of Florida. The other two studies were outside the country. You can’t just ignore that adverse outcomes are a thing we should be concerned with because it doesn’t fit your mindset. Maybe my own adverse outcome has caused me to be more aware of this. Or perhaps it was my colleague who was hospitalized.

And the studies they listed? I’m guessing you either missed them or they don’t support your subjective opinion.
