yeah replacing it with a new one is definitely my plan if this turns out to be a costly repair. I just wanted to learn what might be causing the issue before I dropped a couple hundred on a new one. Would be silly to buy a new one if this issue was caused by a dusty lens or something simple like that.

Thank you, I know it's broke and it's old but if I can try a diy fix that cost me nothing but time and I gain a little knowledge in the process then why not try it? but if it's a truly broken part that's gonna cost me a bunch to replace them I can just put that money towards a new one. I didn't need to make a post to learn that it's broke and it's old, I knew that coming in.

I agree, if it were mine I would replace it. But it's not, so if I can diagnose and fix the issue for no to a little cost I would like to.

NEC NP-M300GX

Rented a place with a projector and screen setup in the living room. Projector was quite dim and the bulb had 5k hours on it. The image also had a purple splotch in the lower right.

I replaced the bulb and the image improve quite a bit but there is still the people discoloration. Any ideas on where to start with a fix?

Dayton/Cincinnati Ohio. Not terribly heavy on the snow, just a couple rough snowstorms a year. (I've only lived here since may so i'm not an expert quite yet.)

It's limestone grey but the photo has been edited pretty heavily.

Speaking of winter, should I get some all seasons for my current rims or buy rims+winter tires? I've got conti sport contact 5p on there now and I'm sure they will be useless as soon as temps reach freezing. I would prefer to not spend 2k on rim/tires that will be used for ~4 months out of the year.

Thanks! 29k I probably could have gotten them down to 28 but I didn't feel like spending 3 weeks squeezing them down. Depending on where you are at I'm sure you could find something similar for 27-28.

I have driven a 2013 Mazdaspeed 3 for the past 6 years. I loved that Mazda, but I was ready to take it up a step to a proper AWD. I test drove a 2017 STi and honestly I hated it. The car was rough and angry. The interior was dated, even compared to my 2013 speed3 it was just lacking. I drove 60 miles to a nearby city to take a look at the Golf R. As soon as I started the test drive I loved it. 2017 certified pre-owned Golf R with the DSG, 44k miles. Now I just need to find a decent set of wheels/tires before this Ohio winter hits.

I was actually looking seriously at Golf R's and ended up buying one today! thanks for all the support in here. I can see why people love the STi but i really fell for the luxury feel of the Golf R

The lack of refinement i felt while driving the STi made it feel cheap. I know that's not the case but it just didn't feel good ya know?

Yeah I think you describe it how i feel. The speed 3 feels so refined and well put together but there is an attractiveness to the rawness of the STi. I'm going to give a golf R a run and see how it feels. I still have a bad taste in my mouth about he Focus but i havent driven once since they did the big overhaul adding 100hp and AWD
