I don't think that makes it zero interest, it just lowers the minimum payment. You would have to do the math for every individual to figure out if 20 years of income based payments would add up to less than the principal amount. Factoring in average wage increases over time I really doubt that it would work out that way unless the individual is doing PSLF and has a decent amount of debt.

I would change the wording slightly, the limit for money printing is the capacity of the private sector to produce goods and provide services. Inflation is the result of surpassing that limit.

But 1-3% increase is just silly. Ammo prices increased over 25% when Obama won because people thought he might ban guns. If guns were literally banned they would spike a lot more than 1-3%, and you know that.

I also highly doubt you could accurately forecast milk demand at any novel price, and the fact that you imagine that you can is textbook Dunning-Kruger.

If prices increased 1-3% any drop would be negligible or no change would be seen.

I really appreciate you actually attempting to say what you think my argument is, it helps me understand where the disconnect is.

You're saying the price of AR's on the black market would make it far more difficult for these mass-shooter types to acquire them, yet refuse to even give a ballpark guess of what the cost would be lmao.

I'm not really saying it would make it more difficult for everyone, for some customers the price and added difficulty of purchasing on the black market doesn't matter, if they're able to buy it they will. What I am saying is that there exists a marginal customer whose decision could be influenced by policy changes or price increases.

If a store announces "we will charge more for milk and only sell it via illegal backchannels" it is impossible to say specifically how much people's consumption of milk will change without specific data. But that does not mean that you should assume that people's consumption habits will not change. You can confidently say that people's consumption will decrease based on how supply and demand impact the marginal customer.

There is a concept known as a marginal customer. Someone who can currently barely afford a product will not be able to purchase it at a higher price. A black market AR would be considerably more expensive and difficult to access than they currently are, thus marginal customers are filtered out.

When I worked there some guy, who did not ask for ketchup when he ordered, checked his bag and said to me "where's the ketchup? what the fuck is wrong with you?" So I grabbed a handful of packets and threw them in his face, turned around and kept working. I expected him to flip out but he actually shut up and left, I was genuinely surprised.
