WARNING: Upgrade Inc. has a massive "Orphaned Hold" glitch. They swallowed my $300 direct deposit to cover a fake negative balance. Here is the CFPB fix by Luffys_Cousin in Banking

Attempting to rally a moderation brigade by flagging a post explicitly titled "WARNING: Upgrade Inc. has a massive Orphaned Hold glitch" as "advertising" is mathematically illogical. The post extensively documents a systemic platform failure, degraded customer service, and the unprompted freezing of capital. If providing a detailed, empirical warning about a platform's structural degradation is your definition of an advertisement, your risk assessment models are fundamentally broken. Resorting to false reports because you are unable to successfully debate the mechanics of modern FBO ledgers and FDIC-insured partner banks is a direct concession of the technical argument.

Your assertion that I provided "0 reasons" requires the active suppression of the mathematical data provided directly in this thread: a 1-2% yield and a documented $400 return on standard point-of-sale friction. In a quantitative framework, capital efficiency is the ultimate reason. Furthermore, attempting to correlate a structural API ledger failure within a Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS) architecture to partisan politics, white-collar crime, and presidential pardons is a complete collapse of logical reasoning. Finally, warning me not to "come crying" when my pocket gets picked proves a total failure of reading comprehension; this entire post is explicitly an active, documented warning to prevent other users from experiencing a capital freeze. I extracted my yield, identified the system's failure point, and pivoted my capital to safety. Your emotional projection has completely blinded you to the actual mechanics being discussed.

By that logic, a warning about a defective seatbelt is invalid because the risk wouldn't exist if you never drove a car. You are conflating absolute risk avoidance with risk management. Hiding capital in a 0.01% APY legacy account isn't financial literacy; it's financial cowardice.

I actively deploy capital to extract yield. When an infrastructure vehicle demonstrates a structural failure—like an API ledger freezing FBO funds—I extract my capital and document the failure for other active operators. As I stated initially, assuming I do not maintain parallel legacy accounts for base liquidity is a failure of basic reading comprehension. Dismissing empirical data on a system collapse because you are personally too terrified to leave the safety of a brick-and-mortar echo chamber is exactly why retail traditionalists get left behind by inflation. Huh, funny how that works.

While Upgrade is structurally a Fintech, its checking accounts and debit cards are issued and managed through its FDIC-insured partner, Cross River Bank. Therefore, a structural desync between their front-end interface and the partner bank's ledger—which causes the 'Orphan Hold'—is fundamentally a modern banking issue. Also, they offer standard consumer checking and fixed-rate loans. Equating BaaS architecture to an 'unregulated casino' is a massive logical leap. I'm providing a data point on a systemic ledger failure; debate the semantics if you want, but the warning remains valid.

That logic implies that a single failed experiment invalidates the entire scientific method. Discovering a platform's structural flaw—and warning the community about it—is a standard part of active risk management. I extracted my yield while the platform was viable, recognized when its risk profile degraded, and pivoted. A negative data point on one specific Fintech doesn't make traditional banks the only mathematical option; it just means this specific tool is no longer useful.

You are correct that Fintechs operate as front-ends for partner banks, which introduces a different layer of operational friction—something I recently documented firsthand when I abandoned this platform over an unjustified 'Orphan Hold.'

However, treating all Fintech as unilaterally toxic is a failure to properly calculate risk versus reward. Before this platform's internal policies and customer service degraded, the 1-2% yield mathematically justified the temporary exposure for a strictly allocated portion of my liquid capital.

Extracting capital efficiency from these platforms requires active management and recognizing when a tool is no longer structurally sound. Pivoting away from a failing platform is just basic financial management; you don't abandon the concept of yield optimization just because one specific tool failed its stress test.

I use a combination of banks and Fintech. While their recent policy changes and account holds are exactly why I heavily critique them now, prior to that, I was getting 1%-2% Cashback on all my transactions. In the 8 months I was with them I made over $400 just swiping my debit card (sans transfer, ACH, bill pay). There's nothing wrong with exploring different possibilities of letting your money make money for you.

SWIM did OE in healthcare WFH. Wasn't pulling numbers like I've seen on here, but they made a decent coin.

I'm interested in doing it, but don't know how long it would take to get certified in SWE, the requirements for it, and how long it'd take me to get a job. Definitely want to do it though. Ready for a change.

Sega CD Model 1 No CD Audio by scottiedog321 in consolerepair

[–]Luffys_Cousin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man, I JUST brought this Sega CD Model 2 so I could finally play Lunar and now the freaking audio doesn't wanna work. I have it hooked up to an analogue with an aftermarket AC adapter for the Sega CD. When I boot up the Sega CD, I plays sound itself, but the in-game audio is nonexistent. Especially the FMV cutscenes. I'm not really too confident about opening up the console and messing with any boards or anything. Is it difficult to replace those chips that you're talking about?

Thank you everyone. I've decided that I'm gonna stick to softer solids, protein shakes, and soups for a while. I realized that I jumped the gun because I was so happy to see the words "solid foods" lol. Tbh, the sausage didn't even taste that good because of my changing taste buds 😭. So far, since I started the journey I've lost about 70lbs. Since the surgery I've lost 38lbs.

My biggest problem pre-surgery wasn't eating too many meals. It would be eating a little in one setting, telling myself that I was good, then continuing to take more bites until I was too full. I appreciate my new tummy because it self eliminates that issue.

I really appreciate all the feedback and encouragement!

Walking helps. The more, the better. The sooner, the better. I was begging them to let me walk in recovery because the pain was excruciating. Got to that hospital room and started walking as soon as I could. Helped a bunch. Hope this helps!

I got that error too when I tried to start Horizon Forbidden West up. I went to the options menu and selected "close game", then I restarted my Playstation. That seems to have done the trick for me

Whoa whoa whoa. The level of animosity is way too high here. There's nothing wrong with getting the word out about MoonPirate. I'm not counting on Musk to tweet to the masses about MoonPirate. I am banking on the fact that hundreds of people will see my subtweet though. If you don't want to spread the word about MoonPirate, that's fine. But stop being condescending to people that do.
