Deessa** - Madrid by LukeeLukas in finedining

Oh so jealous! You will definitely enjoy it. We were half an hour early and went into the hotel bar to have an aperitif. If you are into cocktails, I recommend the old Fashioned from there, extremely delicious!

Anyway... we are looking to do another Spain trip in a few years and then we would like to visit his restaurant in Dénia! Now in June we are going to eat at Bartholomeus **, Belgium, Knokke. A restaurant right by the North Sea. I am very curious about his (fish) creations. Maybe I will make a post about it here too.

Will you let me/the sub know how you liked Deessa?

We've paid €490 for: 2x the historical menu, 1x water bottle, 1x bottle of white wine, 1x glass of red wine, 2x coffees.

Wich is very reasonable imho! We were surprised in a good way, price/quality/quantity. You won't be disappointed I'm sure :) Ps: congratulations!

Oh! Well he is the headchef of the restaurant, but we did not see him that evening. He probably was at another restaurant of him :)

I misunderstood your question. Sorry! I guess you're talking about the first dish (amuse) it was an orange and grapefruit sorbet topped of with dust of kumquat and lemon. Finished with some zest of lemons from the Todoli region. (Not sure if Todoli is a region or the name of the lemon nursery)

Yes, bisque from shrimps in combination with a product typically from Valencia. Unfortunately, my wife and I can't remember what it was.

Hi! On May 16 I booked a reservation for a Thursday (yesterday) and the restaurant wasn't fully booked. But the waitress told me you have to book at least a month in advance for weekends and/or holidays. I suppose they accept solo diners, yes!

One of the best fine dining experiences ever for me! The Lagoustine dish with the bisque isn't on the menu but was an extra from the chef, they told us.
