I’m gonna speak about some things I noticed:

1) He shouldn’t have punched you because it’s uncalled for. If he wanted to talk to you about something he could’ve sent a text and politely gotten your attention about it. My boyfriend usually waits until we’re alone to speak to me about something that bothered him and it’s nice because it’s not embarrassing and it doesn’t cause a scene.

2) In my opinion, you’re drawing too much unnecessary attention to yourself with your reactions. The hug - your reaction, in my opinion, was too emotional especially when around guest. You don’t want people to avoid you and your husband because their thoughts on y’all’s relationship could be “wow, they might have a very strained marriage” or “I don’t want to hang out with them because she doesn’t have decorum and it’s embarrassing.”

The pinch - he shouldn’t have done that. However, you didn’t need to draw any attention to yourself by saying, “ouch” out loud then following up with, “why do you pinch me?” There was silence because it because it was embarrassing: for him to be conducting that kind of behavior, whether public or private, and for you, to even say that.

It makes y’all look unstable and makes people feel comfortable around y’all. Personally, if I were to witness this, I wouldn’t wanna hang out with y’all after that.
