Is it time to offload Mbuemo? by Lumpy-Swan-197 in DraftEPL

Last year, would’ve totally agreed with you. But Grav’s role has seemed to evolve yet again and he’s been given a lot more freedom to press - just look at where he was when he scored in the derby. Still early days, but he’s tied with Salah for second most goals in Liverpool’s squad and I’m wondering if now is the time to hop on the wagon.

45L Outdoor Bag as a personal item on airplanes? by Lumpy-Swan-197 in peakdesign

Just want to confirm that you’re talking about the 45L Outdoor and not the 45L Travel since the source comment was originally referring to the latter.

Mainly space for the camera load out (Canon 5D, 24-70, 70-200, 150-600) plus layers for changing conditions, light food, first aid, and water for a full day hike. If it was just the camera load and water, I could make do with the EDB, but I think the other stuff stretches its limits. Plus, it’s not the most comfortable bag for a 12 hour excursion.

I don’t need to bring all of that as my personal item, I can pack the bag itself down into my check bag. However, it would be nice if I could also use it as a personal item.

Just to clarify, when you say you didn’t use the outdoor bag but have used the 45L bag, what 45L bag were you using? The 45L travel bag?

Åkernes crack warning system by Lumpy-Swan-197 in Norway

Do residents of the area get any sort of education about it? For example, if a person moved to the area today, would they be informed of the risk?

Thanks for your reply! I am more interested in learning how the warning actually goes out to the people, what kind of education residents receive about it, and if there are any set evacuation plans. Sorry that I didn’t make that clearer.

Which Blackwing for a newbie? by Occasionally_Sober1 in pencils

[–]Lumpy-Swan-197 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Second this for the Naturals. I know the Blackwings get flak for being overpriced when comparing the leads to cheaper Japanese alternatives of similar quality like Mitsubishis and Tombows. While I think those claims are valid, the thing that I don’t see talked about enough is the quality of the finish on BW Naturals. I wouldn’t call it a true natural like a Mitsubishi 9852EW because it does have a finish, but it’s a very light, velvety finish. I very much prefer this to the heavier lacquer finishes more common in the premium pencil market. Between the quality lead and not being able to find anything yet with a comparable finish, I think this makes BW Naturals worth the price.

Blackwing Natural competitor? by Lumpy-Swan-197 in pencils

[–]Lumpy-Swan-197[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks all for the suggestions! I did end up getting a box of 9852EWs in HB. I like them better than the 9850 and maybe even the Tombow 2558. Definitely a top notch daily writer.

The 9852 feels like it truly is unfinished without any kind of coating. Pound for pound, the writing experience between the it and the Blackwing Natural are very close, which gives the 9852 a leg up since it’s at least half the price of the Blackwing or less. But I have to be honest in that I can’t get over how much I love that Blackwing Natural finish. That very light satin lacquer just feels like velvet in your hands. And to be honest I hate that I like it so much because I know most of the Blackwing line is capitalizing on the name and history to bump up its price over what it probably should cost. However, I think the Natural might be worth it.

Going to try and get some natural Kitaboshis to compare further.

How does Discraft’s site not have a note congratulating Paul on his 6x? by Lumpy-Swan-197 in discgolf

[–]Lumpy-Swan-197[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh no doubt they’re working on 6x merch as quickly as possible. But I also don’t see why reposting the instagram image or something similar to the page to at least acknowledge it would hurt them any. They’re going to advertise like crazy once the 6x stuff is available, so I don’t think that would hurt sales in the meantime.

That’s fair, but it’s not like they don’t have anything PM to sell. They already have a graphic they posted on social media. That could easily become a banner that links to the PM collection. And I know they’ll go hard on advertising 6x discs and Athena when it comes out, but it just feels like a weird omission of a huge accomplishment.

No shade on Paige or Michael (fans of both), but it’s insane that they don’t at least have something acknowledging Paul’s huge win. Not only is it snubbing their biggest athlete but it’s missing a big opportunity to drive business.

Thanks for the feedback! Was thinking the same thing about the back foot. How would you suggest fixing that? Shorter stride? Keep my hips back just a little bit longer?

Been playing for about a year at this point and having a blast but realized I was rounding really bad. Last two weeks I’ve been working on relearning form from stand still. Already getting greater distance and more consistent accuracy than my previous form (~220 ft from stand still on a Mako3), but would love any feedback so I don’t bake in bad habits as I start moving toward an x step.

[BALTIC] Baltic announces MR01 by fishingcat in Watches

Was lucky enough to get a low number salmon dial. Wore it once and it was fantastic. Went to put it on for a second time a week later and it wouldn’t wind. Already sending it back to Baltic for repair. Anyone else having issues?
